Is March we have a burst of new terrific themes for XOOPS, with major contributions by kris_fr, algalochkin, Tarik, sinnedesign, and ithri. Thank you to you all!!! Also several new modules from Mage and Wishcraft.  

Highlights of the last month:

• XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Davide N. P. Rossi  (dnprossi),  from Italy, for his innovative work on the xNews 
  
• XOOPSer of the Month Award:  is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, it goes toHossein Azizabadi (Voltan) from Iran for his continues support and development of Oxygen Admin GUI, that will be our default Admin GUI in XOOPS 2.5.   This is a second "XOOPSer of the Month" award for Hossien!!

Is February we continued with our "Fast & Furious" pace in development. We've released XOOPS 2.4.5 Beta and XOOPS 2.5.0 Alpha2. 

In order to honor our community member - Marcello Brandao, who lost his battle with cancer, we have established an Annual "Marcello Brandao XOOPS Innovation Award". This way, he will always be remembered within the XOOPS Community.

This month, it goes to Christophe Capitaine (Burning) from France for his continues support in the maintaining Theme Gallery, and Module Compatibility list, and currently updating the Module Repository.

What a great start of 2010 - January was an extremely busy month. We've released XOOPS 2.4.4 and XOOPS 2.5.0 Alpha.  

Unfortunately, we also lost a member of our community - Marcello Brandao, who lost his battle with cancer. In appreciation of his vast contributions to XOOPS and saddened by his untimely death, the XOOPS Council decided to induct Marcello Brandao into XOOPS Hall of Fame.

We have also filed our deposition in court in Netherlands in a lawsuit against our former Project Manager, Herko Coomans, for return of XOOPS funds and Intellectual Property back to the XOOPS Community. We very much appreciate the support from the XOOPS community - already over 190 XOOPS Community members signed the petition for the court in Netherlands in support of it, and and if you didn't sign yet, please sign it today

This time the award goes to to Yu Pin Lin  (Sugar),  from Taiwan, for their innovative work on the RB Framework and the SNS (Social Network System) Module and to Christophe Boceno  (kris_fr),  from France, for his work on various themes: Morphogenesis, ZetaDigme, CSS100 MorPho, and  Xdt Standard.
   
• XOOPSer of the Month Award:  is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, it goes to Niclas Einarsson (Mazarin) from Sweden for his continues support on these forums, as well as his "Blue Move" contributions by working on XoopsPoll and Startup.

December was a busy month. We've released XOOPS 2.4.2 and XOOPS 2.4.3. We've also published a draft of the XOOPS 2008-2009 Annual Report, and we were also very happy to have Trabis joining the XOOPS Council, and Kris_fr releasing Mor.Pho.GEN.e.sis 3.0.  

On a little more sober note, we were disappointed that after 2 years of trying we were not able to find an amicable solution with our former Project Manager and Chairman of Stichting XOOPS in Netherlands, Herko Coomans, and were forced to file a lawsuit against him for return of XOOPS funds and Intellectual Property back to the XOOPS Community. We very much appreciate the support from the XOOPS community. Already over 135 XOOPS Community members signed the petition for the court in Netherlands in support of it, and and if you didn't sign yet, please sign it today

But the most important thing is that, as you've seen in the XOOPS 2008-2009 Annual Report, there have been a lot of exciting activities in the last two years, the community is uniting, growing, and becoming more vibrant and active - creating new themes, new modules, and new Core releases - with the new XOOPS 2.5 coming out soon in the Alpha release, and later on the XOOPS 3.0. The year 2010 will be a great year for all of us!!!

This time we we'll have a first time ever a team award, and it will go to members of the XOOPS 2.5 team:  Nicolas Andricq  (ForMusS), Cointin Maxime (kraven_30), both from France, and Grégory Mage (Mage), from Switzerland, for their innovative work on the new System module for the upcoming XOOPS 2.5 (to be released as Alpha sometime next week).
   
• XOOPSer of the Month Award:  is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, the award will go to  Mariane Antoun (Mariane) from Lebanon for her continues support on these forums, as well as ArabXOOPS and XOOPS France, and her fantastic themes and modules!

Dylian, who is 15 years old, is the youngest ever recipient of XOOPS Innovation Award!!!!
   
• XOOPSer of the Month Award:  is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, we we'll have a first time ever a team award, and it will go to members of the Leonardo Lino Kaotik from Portugal for their continues work on Tutorials for XOOPS Users, especially his jQuery Tutorial series (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

This month we've seen two major developments - the Theme Contest for new them for XOOPS Website, and new release of XOOPS, which has been released yesterday. Of course, we have high expectations for both of them, and hopefully they will bring a new energy to XOOPS. The interesting thing: in both we'll see the influence of  Eduardo Cortés (BitC3R0), our XOOPS Innovator for this month. Eduardo won the contest for XOOPS Theme, and the new default Admin Theme for XOOPS 2.4 is based on his EXM work. Congratulations to Eduardo!

Also hard at work were Trabis and Wishcraft, getting ready with the XOOPS 2.4.0 Beta 1 release. Hopefully you'll like the results.

This month was especially busy for Wishcraft who again created couple of new modules: Genobio 0.13 (Alpha) and Lawsuit 1.05 (Beta), and updated several of his older modules: Spiders 1.06, X-Reaggregator 2.20. Also very busy were sinnedesign and Algalochkin releasing several new Themes. Thank you all!!!!

And we finally have some tangible designs for the new XOOPS Website Theme, and meaningful discussions.

The work is also going on the next release of XOOPS: 2.3.4. Trabis and Wishcraft have been very hard at work, and we should expect the first Beta release sometime next week.
