Moved to new server - System module not working properly

Hi Gang,

I recently moved my XOOPS site to a new server. I migrated the files then imported the database. It all appears to have worked properly except for the system module.

When I visit the Preferences section of the XOOPS module, not all of the fields are displaying correctly. Several of them are supposed to be drop down menus but they're not. This image is from the General Preferences section. As you can see, the fields are text fields, not drop down fields.

However, some of the menus ARE drop down and working properly. The same thing is happening from the User Preferences menu:

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

The problem was caused by the templates. I generated new html files for them and it worked. thanks for the suggestions.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem because the same thing is happening to me. If I set the Module visibility to 0 and assign the rights by group, nothing appears in the menu for any of my users.

Restored from Backup - Modules no longer visible

Hi Gang,

Last week I had to restore my entire site from backup. Everything worked perfectly. Since the site was down, I also decided to take that opportunity to upgrade to newbb2. It also went well.

However, I do have one problem with some modules. They are not displaying properly. The problem modules are: Freecontent (which I call "Guild Documents", Polls and News (which I call "Important Information".

Each of the above noted modules is configured to diplay in the centre section of the main page. The titles of the sections are being displayed but there is no content. See picture:

I have attempted to unload those modules and I have reloaded them and they're still not displaying anything. If I actually enter the Polls module, it does display the 3 polls I have running.

When I turn on PHP debug mode, I get the following information. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to interpret it...

This is continuing to happen. I pruned the forums in an attempt to lessen the number of messages to mark as read - unforunately, without success.

I note that when I mark all read on this site (www.xoops.org), I am not getting the cookie error. This site has MANY more entries in the forum than my site (which has approximately 10000). Can anyone tell me why this is? Does this site use a larger cookie? Is there a way to enlarge the maximum size of the cookie so the above error doesn't occur? Please, if anyone has a suggestion, I would be most grateful to hear it.

Last night, I installed the RC1 version of Newbb 2.0. I have a relatively large forum (approximately 30 forums with more than 10 000).

After I clicked Mark All Topics Read from the forum menu, I now get the following message whenever I enter the forums. Any suggestions on a fix? Is this a problem on my end or something with the module? Is this where I should be posting this question or should I post it on the Dev site?

All forums are visible in Newbb 2.0

Hi Gang,

I upgraded to newbb 2.0 last night. Let me begin by saying - Great Job!

I have one question and I think it is more of a user (my) error than anything else.

I have set one of my category's Global Access to members of my "Officers" group. I have set the forums in that category to be both Active and Inactive. As well, all of the permissions forums in that category are set to allow access to the "Officers" group.

When a user who is only a member of the "Registered Users" group logs into the system and reads the boards, they are able to see all of the forums in the category noted above. They can enter the forum and read the subject headings but are unable to read the messages (they get a permission denied message).

My question is: Is this the way it is designed to work? It was my understanding that if you did not have access to a forum granted to you, the forum would be hidden from you. Have I misconfigured something? Did I miss a setting somewhere? Some of the subject headings in the "Officer's" forums should not be viewed by the regular members.

I plan to look at this again today (I was at it until 2:00am and I was a little fuzzy last night. Any and all suggestions are most welcome!

I just started getting this error today. It happens when any user clicks on the Discussion Forum (newbb) link. We see no forums just a white page with that error.

I disabled the XT-Themas module (which is referenced in the error) and now I just get the word "Error" on a white screen when I try to enter the forums. I have tried with all debug types on and still only get "Error"

Please, can someone help? I have made no changes to the site in a couple of weeks, I'm not sure why this would just start happening!

No Forums = VERY unhappy users

Suggestions welcome!
