It looks like your problem...It's a bug in class/auth/authfactory.php lines 27 to 31

There is a fix there i think you can use

Been there, done that. IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!

Here's what it's showing now:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected ';', expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in website/class/auth/authfactory.php on line 50

Both my business and educational websites were working just fine for months on 2.2. Out of a sudden, it started displaying blank pages. I contacted the hosting services and they said it had to be a problem with my PHP. Well, they're using PHP 4.3.11 and the mainfile of XOOPS 2.2.3 mentions version 1.6...

Am I missing something? How come some people have it up and running and some people don't? Ah, BTW, my permissions to cache, templates_c, and uploads are correct (otherwise the installation wouldn't have been successful...)

Any ideas?

Oh... I forgot to tell you that my hosting service upgraded their PHP version... Right now IPowerWeb is using phpMyAdmin 2.6.3-pl1.

Thanks in advance for your comments and ideas.

Blank page!

I've been using XOOPS on two websites for more than a year now. Last July, it simply started displaying a blank page on both sites at the same time. I didn't change any code nor install any extra thing. All I was doing is adding content through modules like "Downloads", "Wordbook", and the like.

I contacted my hosting service, saying that my websites were displaying blank pages, and in a couple of days everything was back to normal. But, unfortunately, last week the blank pages came back and for good...

I'm using XOOPS 2.2.2 and was ready to upgrade to 2.2.3. Actually, I tried to upgrade, but each page displayed errors concerning the theme or something. I'm wondering if these themes (7 dana-jane & fycafeaulait) were made only to 2.2.2 and don't work with the latest version, but there's no way I can get back to the sites and change anything in the admin area.

I've uploaded the back up and still nothing. I've tried to re-intall 2.2.2 on top of what I'm already running, and nothing... My last resort will be just erasing everything and dumping the database and starting from scratch, installing 2.2.3 and uploading the back up of the database (too much content I cannot afford to lose, since one site is for my business and the other is an educational one).

Well, if any of you guys have gone through the same thing, please shed a light on this situation and let me know what you've done to solve this problem. Also let me know if you need any extra information about my set up.

Thanks!

Organizing articles in WF-Section

I have a lot of articles published by WF-Section (more than 800!!!) and even though I've been considering switching this content to SoapBox, I would like to know if there's any way I can make the index page for WF-Section look a little bit more organized...

I've been using WF-Section to organize lyrics of songs, as you can see here. The problem is that with so many articles, the index page looks kinda crowded. The user would have to scroll down a lot of screens in order to get to the next category, for example.

First of all, I wanted to know if it would be possible to create pages in this index in order to show, for example, only 25 articles for each category, so that the user could hit "next" or "previous" and browse through the whole list.

Another thing I would really like to do is arrange the articles from the most popular to the least popular inside each category, according to the hits counter. When I went to the module's General Configuration, I chose Popularity (A) for the option "Articles sort order", but I've noticed that the module is organizing the most popular according to the date they have been posted, that is, from old to new. You can check this out here.

I've noticed that it was happening because the first article shown by popularity has only 63 hits and going down the list you can see another article that has 65 hits. Strangely enough, when I scroll all the way down to the "sort by" area and click on the downward arrow for Popularity, the top article has 665 HITS!!!. Check this out!

My question are:
1. What can I do to have a shorter list on the index WF-Section page?
2. How can I organize each category by the most hit articles instead of by date even though I've chosen Popularity in the config area?
3. How come the General Configurations Popularity (A) is not working as good as the Popularity arrow?

Thanks for your help!

I really wanted to start using SoapBox instead of WF-Section, but I have more than 800 articles now to convert from one module to another. Any ideas???

I've fixed the html code error on WordBook, at least for my objectives. All I did was go into the TEMPLATE SET MANAGER, click on LIST next to where's written WordBook (or whatever name you changed it to) and edited the files wb_category.html and wb_letter.html. In the area $pagetype == '1', I've removed the line that concern the DEFINITION. It's just one line coming after <h4> and before <br/> (I left the latter in order to have some spacing between the definitions). Voilà, now the <forbidenforbidenforbidenforbiden> error is gone and it looks like this:http://translatedlyrics.com/modules/wordbook/category.php?categoryID=2

Thanks for the tip. I ended up finding a very easy way, which was UPDATING THE MODULES! It took me long enough to think about it, but it worked out in the end.Quote:

I have just changed the theme for my website and noticed that both the links and the news modules are not working!!! The links I had set for the top page (most recent links and most recent articles) are there in place, but when you click on them (or on the options on the menu), a blank page appears next to the menus on the left.

I've checked the administration area to see if the blocks and groups were correctly assigned, but nothing has changed and I cannot find any explanation why these modules suddenly stopped working!

Well, I'm running XOOPS 2.0.9.2 and my url ishttp://TranslatedLyrics.com

HELP ME!!!

Maybe my problem is a little simpler... I have no problems on the block shown on the top page nor with the cover page of WordBook (which I call "A — Z" in my website), but when I click on a category or a letter, the urls look all crazy! Check this out:

http://translatedlyrics.com/modules/wordbook/category.php?categoryID=3

What should I do for the links not to seem broken whenever someone is browsing through categories or letters?

Also, in a more advanced question, I wanted to know if there's any way I could put a block on the top page with the most recent entries from ONLY ONE CATEGORY. You see, my website is about music and I use WordBook to organize my content, so I have the following categories: Artists, Dictionary, Lyrics, and Soundtrack. I wanted to have a block showing ONLY the 10 most recent Artists entries on the top page... Any ideas?
