No idea if this is a problem for you but it has got me a couple of times. If you unpacked the zip onto the server the permissions will look right but in fact they are not. You may not be able to modify or change permissions on a single file which could cause problems. If the zip was unpacked on the server itself I suggest calling your host and have him make sure the permissions are really correct. *thinkin out-loud*

Also make sure (I'm sure you have) all the files are set to 755. and the path is set to whatever your correct path would be (something like /home/whatever/public_html/domain/netpbm)

Make sure you leave off the trailing /

Follow these directions while you have the Gallery running as a stand alone program (in the config.php make the embed "false" and login in to the Gallery via modules/xoopsgallery/engine/). I also think you have to ensure you are uploading the binaries via ASCII.

My first attempt at XOOPS (or any CMS for that matter). Working hard to make it search engine friendly... got a ways to go.

Once I can sync the Gallery groups with the XOOPS groups all will be good in the Gallery department.

Looking at modifying the phpbb2 hack to put the page title in the url of other sections like CBB.

Should be fun!

It will be neat to see how google is going to index it...

Google will index each framed page separately if it can find them. Should make it to index.php and perhaps crawl the other sections. Link building to the site will be difficult (to internal pages) I suggest a site map on you main page. Frames are really not a good idea but the site looks good!

The Xoopsgallery website doesn't appear to be up and running so I want to start this thread to get the module working well. This discussion is about the latest release, Xoopsgallery 2.1 Release Candidate 4. I personally am using XOOPS 2.0.17 with the mod on this site Angler Gossip. I am not a programmer but do have very basic understanding of some things PHP. Gallery2 is, IMO, the best open source photo/video gallery available.

So far I have been able to install the module with little problems, the main issue I still have is the sync of users and their group - Anyone have a fix for this yet? :)

One thing I have figured out on my own;
For unique page titles for xoopsgallery2;
Open xoopsgallery/index.php
Find:
$xoopsTpl->assign('xg2_body'$xg2bodyHtml);

After place;
$xoopsTpl->assign('xoops_pagetitle'$title);

BTW mod_rewrite url function provided with the Gallery program works great!

Other problems I am missing?

How hard would it be to draw out the $xoops_pagetitle to create the file name in the url?

Like /modules/newbb/freshwater(forum)/caught-big-fish-today(topic).html

Angler Gossip has a gallery using Gallery2 - I am working out (well, attempting too, I am not a programmer...).

Adding the Gallery is a little complicated and I still have some issues to work out - main one is the page titles in the gallery (having the same issue with a couple other mods). The URLs look great though :)

I installed the same xoopsgallery onto my site Angler Gossip - I wish I would have written down everything I had to do to get it to work (well, I think it works - has some bugs)

I do remember that after I installed gallery2 I logged into site admin (before I installed the module into Xoops) of Gallery2 and set the Gallery modules to what I wanted - then I disabled registration within the Gallery. I then installed the module into Xoops, went to module admin and added my users - groups. Then went to preferences - here is where some issues occured - One of the modifications I made was to add /engine vice just engine to the Relative Path, it improved functionality and removed the GALLERYSID from all the urls. Well, except for one - the URL generated for the image block on all the pages except for the one displaying the gallery itself still has GALLERYSIDs which is bothering me, I finished the install this morning and will be looking at how what talks to which - the Xoopsgallery support seems non-existent at present. I ran debug and saw nothing that would cause the G'SID. Still testing... Anyone have more to add? Ill also work on making the titles change for each picture/album - urls work good though :)

Go into <xoops_root>/class/module.textsanitizer.php and start looking around line 125. It's pretty straight forward to mod.

HTH

Thanks, got that working for the user added urls (www. and http direct input) - took me a while to find where to provide the nofollow for the [url= java added urls - had to modify the /Frameworks/textsanitizer/module.textsanitizer.php in the same fashion.

No to figure out how to have users earn the right to have a follow link... :)
