The Xoopsgallery website doesn't appear to be up and running so I want to start this thread to get the module working well. This discussion is about the latest release, Xoopsgallery 2.1 Release Candidate 4. I personally am using XOOPS 2.0.17 with the mod on this site Angler Gossip. I am not a programmer but do have very basic understanding of some things PHP. Gallery2 is, IMO, the best open source photo/video gallery available.

So far I have been able to install the module with little problems, the main issue I still have is the sync of users and their group - Anyone have a fix for this yet? :)

One thing I have figured out on my own;
For unique page titles for xoopsgallery2;
Open xoopsgallery/index.php
Find:

After place;


BTW mod_rewrite url function provided with the Gallery program works great!

avtx30, the version you link to is the older, Gallery 1x version, and not the xoppsgallery2 module, which is based on the much more current Gallery 2x code.

though I find the 1.3x versions very stable, and the modifications to support php 5 are wonderful, the gallery2 code base promises many more features and tools. The image uploader alone is worth it for me. The overall module is currently overkill for my needs, however (personally speaking of course)

I've never used XoopsGallery. I prefer xcGal anyway.

I've always loved XcGal too, although I was hoping that ExtGal would replace it, however when ever I try ExtGal, there always seems to be so many bugs, not tried it recently though, I hear he released a new version.

I'm just hoping these modules will continue to be actively developed.

I am testing xoopsgallery v2_1_rc4 in a XOOPS version 2.3.0 beta1, updated engine to Gallery 2.2.5, installation and configuration seems to work very good.

But I am having an issue, when I access gallery from mysite/modules/xoopsgallery it reads thumbnails perfect but links don't work, links are mysite/modules/xoopsgallery/v/album_name and this gave a 404 page error, meanwhile engine works well mysite/modules/xoopsgallery/engine/v/album_name.

Any hints about this?

Well, it's solved, just do not activate url-rewrite in Gallery, that's all
