keep developing it!

The module I'm working is strickly for a business listing so site owners can offer they're users a phone directory of local businesses and possibly generate revenue from those businesses.

It looks like you are creating a really nice personal/public address book. I would keep working on it to offer the XOOPS community an alternative to the xDirectory. I'm sure everyone would agree.

It's nice to have choices! right now we have some nice choices with calendars and content modules. Keep Programming!

Cheers!

Just stumbled into this topic.
For now weeks I am busy with also a mylinks rewrite into a addresses module. Almost the same as this xdirectory module but less 'bussiness orientated'.
The fields I am using are:
name/organisation, addres, zip, city, country, phone, mobile, fax, contactemail, opened, description, show logo.

This module now runs for about 70%. The only probs I encouter are revisions within the admin section.
(it somehow doesn't show the modifications requests properly and therefore this part isn't working correctly at this moment.) And the show logo doesn't work well yet.

Hm, now I am thinking, should I stop with my further addresses module fiddling, or..........?

Grtz., Shine

This is a excellent addition to xoops, just as a thought would you consider joining the XOOPS Module Development Team (XMDT) site and making this project public for development, it has so much potential.

Please check out the XMDT site at the following url:

http://www.modules.xoops2.com

I hope you consider this for development, This would mean:

+ Public development project
+ Support on our forums
+ Sourceforge tools, dev access
+ CVS access
+ Excellent team support.

I look forward to your reply.

I went through the english language files AND the email templates and picked up a few more of the "links" occurences and replaced them (when appropriate) with the word listing(s).

How can I get the new files to you?

Jose

Re: Unable to send user activation key

do other email functions within XOOPS - Mail Users, Notification Emails, work? AFAIK, all email functions with XOOPS use the same mailer settings, so if one fails they should all fail.

Hi Catz,

first of all, Grrreat work !

now my problem:

when I add a comment to an article, that is restricted to specific user groups, the 'recent comments' block of the XOOPS system also displays the comment for users that don't belong to one of the groups specified in the articles section.

If the user klicks the comment link, he get's an error message saying that he is not permitted to view the article.

How can you exlude those wfsection comments in the 'recent comments' block from being displayed to users, not belonging to one of the user groups specified in the corresponding section ??

Thanks in advance !

I have sendmail setup properly, it works really fine but still unable to send users activation keys.
I had to manually activate them which is quite irratating.

Any ideas?

Ok, Here is the xDirectory module zipped up and ready for testing.
I've set it up with it's own DB tables instead of sharing the tables
with the MyLinks module. This works out much better.

Here a few thing to watch out for:
1) I tried to go through and replace every instance of the word "link"
with the word(s) "business listing" and "listing" but I'm still finding them turn up here and there.
2) you may find some table and cell styles hard coded in some of the files. I'm lazy
3) you may also find some of my site specific verbiage hard coded into some of the pages as well. I'm still lazy

Other than that the module seems to work very well!

If you make any enhancements to the script please let me know!

Enjoy!
