I was planning on using IPBM inplace of NewBB as I felt the features offered by IPBM outweighed the disadvantages of having an unclear upgrade path, and the fact that it took a bit more to administer as it wasn't XOOPS core as NewBB is.

However, now that I see Catz is putting his skills into developing NewBB, I think I'll be sticking to NewBB. I doubt NewBB will ever have a feature set as rich as IPBM, but that also has it's advantages in that it's easy to administer.

C'mon guys, I'm inviting people to sing the praises of NewBB, or PHPBB2(xoops module), or Invision Power Board (xoops module). The must be some webmasters that have tried some of these and have comments to make.

Which is best and why? Can PHPBB2 posts/users be converted to your recommended forum module?

Kerry.

Well, first of all,did you download GIJOE's package or hack codes manually? I recommend you to download his fully reliable package. If you want to alter codes manually check this post: GIJOE's post.

Anyway, check the following list to confirm if your hack is valid or not.
1.Is your Cookie turned on?
2.Did you check "auto login" when you log in?

3.did you change the duration of session in admin/preferences/general setting? (It says this setting is valid as long as custom session is enabled. Although this hack reffer to this setting. 1 week is "10080")

4.Okay,then,let's check if it works now.
5.Use (Mozzila)Firebird since you can easily check Cookie's expiration date. Of course, any other method will do if you can check cookies.
6.Log in with "autologin"checked.Then check cookie's expiration date.(This hack gives you 2 cookies:ID & Pass.)
7.Close your browser to finish regular session.

8.restart your browser & go to your site. Then check your cookie again. Its expiration date must be postphoned.

OR you can check your last log in date instead of cookies because it also updates it.

Hope this helps

HMmm, doesn't seem to be working. It autologs in for about an hour but longer than that it makes you login again. It did that before I installed this hack, any ideas?

Freaky:

I'm glad you've solved your problem. And one of the reasons I'm here is I like helping other people just as some others helped me while learning to play with Xoops.

As far as I know, The module nearest to a usable state is osCommerce, but I haven't tried it yet.

Cheers.

Freaky:

If you can see the options, select Admin > Modules and then update the system module.

If you can't see the options, try now using

http://www.yoursitesname.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin

and then update the system module.

Cheers.

Ok, i just got access to the admin system page, but the admin system icon seems not to appear on the outer left side. It only appears on the left side in the admin system page column.

Sorry for my english but i am dutch spoken.
