Very Weird..... now it's working again.

All I did was navigate straight to the system/preferences area, to turn the site off so that I could run debug, and after I'd turned site off and set XOOPS to check for any template modifications so that I could make sure a new Theme i'm releasing later on was working...... The Admin Menu suddenly Appeared.

Anyone know why this Missing Menu problem happened in first place ? Could it just be a javascript brainfart that basically needed a jolt somehow? I'm stumped.. anyway it's working again, but any help as to why it happened would be appreciated :)

Thanks in advance again.

Hiyas, Since yesterday I've lost the Menu in the Admin CP of my XOOPS 2.0.16. It's jut not loading at all. I've only ever got one message via the 'error' icon in status bar and it just said something like 'objected expected', something to do with the javascript menu if I remember correctly. But since then I've had no error messages, no messages at all, it just shows the admin CP page, with no menu at all.

Nothing else seems to be broken, just the Menu is missing and it won't load.

I can navigate straight to each module to perform tasks but a Menu does help and would be nice.

Any ideas on why this would happen? or how to get the menu back? Thanks in advance.

How to get a particular Javascript to create a session cookie?

Hiyas,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, But I came across a script mentioned in THIS POST by wizanda and I have a question regarding how to get that Javascript to create a session cookie?

I've added the above mentioned script to a cool new XOOPS Theme which I'm working on and have implemented it give the user the ability to show or hide certain things, but I've added my own bits and pieces.

My question is though, how do I get the hidden or shown state to be remembered for a users session? Because at the moment, upon testing, the show/hide functions work perfectly showing or hiding something..... BUT on page refresh or going to a new page, the hidden or shown state reverts back to its default. It doesn't remember that I'd hidden or shown something.

How do you get this particular script to create a cookie so that it remembers if the user has hidden or shown something, for that users session or for a set period of time?

Thanks in advance and I hope someone can help me with this, as I think it will make this Theme I'm working on a lot more popular, well I hope so anyway. :)

Well I uninstalled WebLinks 0.93 from my test site, uploaded it again to server overwriting the existing Weblinks 0.93 module, reinstalled it , and it won't let me create any categories, in XOOPS 2.0.15. I'm not up to messing with this module, so i'll look for another one or just go without a links directory for now, unless anyone can figure out what's wrong with it?

It's a great module, and it's functions are good, but something doesn't let it work in XOOPS 2.0.15 :( oh well...

thanks in advance if anyone can help with it :)

I'm getting the same thing with Weblinks 0.93. I can't create/edit/remove a category and some links give different errors when I click on them in the WebLinks admin section.

I'm using XOOPS 2.0.15, it was working fine but I don't know when it decided to have a brain fart, but now when I click on 'Management of Category' and then click on the Title of a category, I get this...

Quote:
Web Links Configuration
Management of Category
There are 9 categories in database

- Admin Index

- Add, Modify, and Delete Categories

- List of category

--- Listed by ID

--- Listed by tree

--- Order of category

Order of category

There is no corresponding category.

I can add a link, that is I get the form for adding a link but I don't know if I should try or not lol. I'll try uninstalling it and reinstalling it on my test site and see if that helps.

Another error I get is when I click on 'Other Functions/Create Config file for bin/
then when it says 'created' I click on where it says 'goto TEST for link check' and I get this
Warningmain(/home/***/html/modules/weblinks/bin/class.bin_link_check.php): failed to open streamNo such file or directory in /home/content/p/a/t/pathtomyroot/html/modules/weblinks/bin/link_check.php on line 26

I'm lost, I think I'll look for a different Links Module, if reinstalling it doesn't work, but any ideas or help with what's happening would be appreciated :) Thanks in advance.

btw.. in Firefox it displays fine after I've edited as above, but in IE the green icon is slightly larger and a couple of the menus are still on two lines as in the image above. Is there a way to move this image to the left? i can't find the attribute *sigh* .. anyway thanks in advance again :)

I've reduced the font size by adding the following which is highlighted in blue and also changing the width again, and it's made the 'search forum' be on one line, but it'd be good if i could think of the attributes which i need to change to align that green icon to the left a bit more.

ul.newbb_level1ul.newbb_level2ul.newbb_level3 {

display:block;

margin:0;

padding:0;

border:0;

width:128px;             /* Width of the Dropdownmenu Title and Menu themself */

border:0px;

background:#2F5376;      /* Main Background of the Menu Folder */

list-style:none;
        [
color=0000FF]font-size10px;[/color]

Thanks in advance :)

NewBB2 Dropdown Menu - can't find attribute in newbb.css for menu text alignment

hiyas :)

Just wondering which css attribute in newbb.css controls the alignment of the 1st level of the dropdown menu in the forums.

I've reduced the width of each one by 20px, from 160px to 140px, to avoid having horizontal scrollbar when browsers is reduced to 800x600, more or less, but need to align the text and the doubledown-a.gif image to the left.

I looked and have tried text-algin: left; in a few places but no luck. I've also looked for the file which holds the html for it coz there is a 'aling="middle"' involved on that line, but can't find that either. Here is a snapshot of what I mean and what I need to do.

Resized Image

I need to align the image and text for each menu, to the left, to make the 'search forum' be on one line.

Also note the misalignment of the header, which is mainly due to a 'code' being on that page, but without a 'code' posted on page it's aligned neatly at that resolution, I just need the image and text aligned to the left, and can't find which attribute controls that. My mind's gone blank atm lol.
If anyone knows how to make the 'code' post feature wrap to avoid horizontal scrollbar while ya at it, would be handy too :)

Thanks in advance :) hope I not too confusing :)
