Thank you very much for that :) I made the change in that session.php file on my test site, and it works. I've only done it on my test site so far, with myself using a test account, and also got a friend to test it with a test account and all seems to work fine.

I also compared that session.php file from the 2.0.18 version with the 2.0.18.1 version and it says 'true' on the first one and 'false' on the upgrade one.. so that looks like that is the problem. There should be a article about it on the main page or in the FAQ's (unless i've missed it), so others don't have to search around for this fix.

Thanks again for lettin me know about that post :) tc

2.0.18 to 2.0.18.1 upgrade - login issue

Hiyas. Here's my environment

XOOPS Version: - rolled back to 2.0.18
Module Name/Version:
PHP Version: 4.3.11
MySQL Version: 4.0
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other): Linux
Operating System: XP sp2
Theme you are using: My own design that worked with all other XOOPS versions.
Custom template: (Yes/No) Yes and they too worked with all other versions

A full description of the issue:

ok I upgraded from XOOPS 2.0.18 to 2.0.18.1 yesterday and at first it seemed to go well, then a friend told me they couldn't log in, but I could even on a test user account with standard permissions. It didn't occur to me that i could only log in coz of my cache. Once i cleared my cache i too could not log in, not even as admin'.

At first my friend was banned from the site due to refreshing too many times and Protector Module did it's job :) but it was when i'd removed the bans from database and protector admin that I noticed we still could not log in at all.

The problem I had is when I or anyone else tries to login, it takes you to the welcome message and the system_redirect page and instead of taking you back to the main page with 'no login block visible', it takes you back with the 'login block still visible'. So it's logging you in but doesn't keep you logged in after the redirect.

This happened on my test site as well. I upgraded test site first, upgrade seemed to go well so i put it on my two live sites as well, luckily I backed up each file and directory that was being replaced by the upgrade, for each site, coz i've had to go and roll-back evry site and every file one at a time to make sure it was all done.

SO now all my sites remain on 2.0.18 coz with 2.0.18.1 noone can login.

Any ideas on what thte fix is for this or is this a bug with the 2.0.18 to 2.0.18.1 upgrade?

I checked the 'system_redirect.html' that was in the upgrade package against the one for my themes, and they are the same as far as the coding goes so i'm lost and can't upgrade.

I've never had an upgrade go wrong b4 and this one is really annoying me. Thanks in advance :)

HI, i love the quiz module u made, but i've come across a problem with results page after taking a quiz...

I've made a couple of 10 question quizzes, and after submitting on completion of the quiz, the results page is only showing the first two questions/answers. This happens when i take the test and get all questions correct or if someone else takes the test and doesn't get them all correct.

Settings i've got ticked in quiz setup are:
- Make the Quiz Active
- Display the scores after the user votes
- Display the answers after the user votes

When i first encountered the problem, i had only 4 choices on each question, so i tried again with 5 choices, still same problem.

The Problem occurs on XOOPS 2.0.18 (one of my live sites), and also on XOOPS 2.0.18.1 (my test site).

YOu can take the test at www.fansofbigbrother.com if you want to see what i mean, follow the links from the 'Quizzes' link in main menu, no need to register to take a quiz.

It doesn't matter how many questions you get right or wrong, it should display all 10 of your answers for those quizzes coz it's set to do so, but it doesn't, it only shows two. The site mentioned here is on 2.0.18 atm.

Thank you and hope to get a fix for this real soon as i really like the module and have big plans for it :) Keep up the good work.

Hi I am having kinda the same problem.

I'm using XOOPS 2.0.16 and have SMF 1.1.3 and want to put a SSI PHP code to make some forum stats appear in a custom php block on the XOOPS Site.

I've added the necessary code to the top of the theme.html in the theme i want it to appear in, and i've added the php code in the custom block and set it as php but no block shows up.

When i remove the <?php and ?> and set it as php, the page just goes blank white :(

I'm lost, anyone know how to post SMF forum SSI php output to a custom php block ?

thanks in advance :)

Unable to install anymore Modules - "XOOPS root path not defined" error

Hi,

Recently I've had problems on a website I built, all was working well until recently. The MyAlbum module started by giving a blank page with the message...

"XOOPS root path not defined"

when clicking on a link to it from the front end. The Admin' side was still working, as in I could still view the images etc.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the module, still same problem. I made a copy of the module and installed it, same problem.

I also noticed that the Contact Us module isn't working because it's giving the same error message when you click on the link to it from the front end.

I tried installing a different module, and no matter what module I install, even though it says it's installed correctly, when you click on the link to it from the front end, it gives the blank page with error message....
"XOOPS root path not defined"

Has anyone got any ideas what's happened ?

The site runs XOOPS 2.0.16. I have those exact same modules working on another couple of sites which are mine, and are on a different server, and they work fine. It's just this one site that I built for a Car Club that the problems mentioned above exist on.

thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas. I'm lost

Hiyas,

a site i built, recently had the MyAlbum module stop working on the front end. Clicking on any image in the module gives a blank page with just

"XOOPS root path not defined"

Yet on the admin side, all images are viewable and are there, the module is there, but something has happened to stop them being viewed from the front end.

Any ideas on what could have happened and how to fix it, without reinstalling it? Thanks in advance :)

it's on XOOPS 2.0.16 and the MyAlbum is version 2.84. It's running fine on my other sites which have XOOPS 2.0.16 and same module.

Moving a particular post to different topic in Newbb2.02?

Hi

In Newbb 2.02, is there a hack (or something i've missed) for making it possible to move a particular post in a topic, to another topic?

I know how to move a topic to a new forum, but can't find how to move a post to a new topic.

It seems that if someone posts in an incorrect topic, it's either gotta stay there, or be deleted, can't move that post to it's correct topic.

Any ideas ? thanks in advance :)

Hi, I'm not sure why your unable to click on the Profile link when you hover over the posters name to the left of their post, sorry.

But to make a Topic Sticky, post your topic as normal, and once it's done, go back into that topic and hover over the 'Topic Options' link at the top.
Then from that list choose 'Make This Topic Sticky'. It will take you to another page where you just press on a button labelled 'Sticky'.

To Unsticky the topic, repeat the steps by hovering over 'Topic Options' then click on 'Make Topic Unsticky'.

Hope this helps :)

I've found this problem when searching for users on my site, but it's only given that error message for a user that has not yet activated their account. Check to make sure the account has been activated. :) atleast that was the reason for the error message I received.
