I want to use XOOPS for different sites, but on 2 of them i have to create a guestbook, where anonymous users can only read it and not write, and other users can write if their logged in.

But it seems that XOOPS lacks the ability to give users read or read/write access. Can you only give in general access to modules, and no different access levels??

I,ve been installing XOOPS since the 1.x.x days. This is my first install of 2.0.5. I found that I did not have to chmod
any of the directorys with 2.0.5 like I did with 2.0.2 or 2.0.3. The website is up and running seems fine except the error below. I have chmod the mainfile several times to 444
and I still get the error below.

WARNING: File /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/mainfile.php is writeable by the server. Please change the permission of this file for security reasons. In Unix (444), in Win32 (read-only)

This is how my server is configed...

Found it myself. It is the blocks.php file that I have to modify. I will modify the file so that the blocks show properly.

Since I'm new to the XOOPS world, anybody can tell me what I can do to "regive" the corrected file to the community ?

Ok, where should I look to correct this. I've looked the file : xoops_root\modules\wsproject\language\english\main.php and found things like this :

define("_WS_USERDETAILSFOR","User Details for");
define("_WS_USERNAME", "Username");
define("_WS_RANK", "Rank");
define("_WS_PROJECTS", "Projects");
define("_WS_PROJECT", "Project");
define("_WS_OPENTASKS", "Open Tasks");

I'm a newbie at PHP but it seems like the variables are correct. Still, I only see some _WS_USERNAME kind of stuff on the blocks for webslave in my home page.

Any suggestions?. Thanks for any help !

I was actually thinking more of a continously counting clock, but this is a good start. Thanks MithyT2 !

Re: How to output an Install message?

Would indeed be nice with the possibility of displaying a readme text after install/update of a module... XOOPS Devs?

Re: Date & Time displayed in realtime?

you mean like a clock going up? Or just a "Time is now: "

If it's the latter, check outhttp://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.datetime.php
