a note of caution:

Fancy AJAX features may prevent google from being able to read and therefore index the content of your page.

If traditionally on your site you have a lot of keyword rich comments you may want these readable to google.

Ajax is also inaccessible. Fine for modules, but should be kept out of the core IMHO, otherwise many people will no longer be able to use Xoops.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

For XOOPS 2.0.x, in module System: Comment Manger:
Is it possible to have like kind of preview, and select several comments for action (such as active, pending, hidden, delete etc...)

is it possible to give option to user to turn on/off ajax..that would be great

when we can have comment paginations ?

one of my site have been successful and many people send their comment
in the news section and download section of my site almost daily

in one of my most popular news article there is more than 200+ comments

i would like to have the comment maybe to be limited to 25 comment per page..for better reading and fast loading

i also would like to allow the user to vote a comment as spam..like in the youtube system...and if it receives many vote as spam..it will be hide automatically..or it is more better if like in the wordpress if the comment have a certain spam keyword of contain more than x links it will not be shown..

thank you ..hope his to be consider..and implement asap..

We will publish a comment module with XOOPS 3.0
The above mentioned features will definitely be considered.

Rather than expanding the comments, I'd rather see comment integrated into the Forums.

Create a NEWS forum and every news item automatically creates a thread there for comments. And all comments in that thread are displayed under the news item. Seamless integration. Easy to quote. Can use all of the forum features. Elegant.

Creating a comments module that is separate from the forum module is several steps backwards. IMNSHO of course.

Xoops needs integration and seamless access to data between modules. News, forums, image handling, file handling, tags, quotes, avatars.... They all need to access one another rather than the current situation where you need to hack things to make pieces of data available to other modules.

Let's move forward, not backwards.

..never tried this before...not sure if its still works with cbb 3.08 and 4/xoops 2.3/2018

the problem is there is more than 1 forum module : cbb/newbbex/smf/d3forum/ipb etc
