Re: I have an idea for a mod.

Yes I see the quote you have and that is for "recurring updates" this is repeating the same tweet over and over on a regular basis either weekly or monthly. If you require a new list each time this may resolve this issue.

So litterally EVERY tweet should be unique.. that's a big limitation.. But maybe those services can help you ;)

Eric replies: Would not each tweet in the list be UNIQUE?
By forcing the time constraints would not this cause the max number of tweets per day be limited?

Hmmm... So you mean a Twitter queue? You can put tweets in a waiting-list and send them at a specified time to a specified account?

Not really heard of something like it, and don't think it really needs a XOOPS module to do it. Most likely there is a a service.

Eric replies: I was thinking of offering this as a service to my users.

A quick google gives me this:

Eric replies for the most part sites as these only offer the service where you must place a single tweet for a specific time to be sent. Very time consuming.
Where as if you have a list of tweets with a specific time break, even a random break I think this is an easier service to offer.

Maybe that's what you're looking for?
If it is, maybe someone can make a module for it :)

I will Look at these sites.

Thank you for your input.

I have an idea for a mod.

I am no programmer and have no idea what may be involved but I was thinking about what I think would be a useful mod:

A Twitter integration where one can create a list of messages to be automatically sent every 5 to 30 minutes apart (preset by the user) to a specified user account for the duration of the list.

A possible setting may be to loop the list as well for a specified amount of time.

Is this something simple? Maybe someone could learn how to program PHP as a starting project?

What do you think?

Re: iframes question

Dude! You are the master!

I kneel before you with a respectful bow of my head.
May I rise?

That worked perfectly!

Seriously, may I rise? LOL

Thank you,

Re: Warning

Thank you!

I have saved it and will most likely refer to it from time to time.

iframes question

Hello,

I am trying to display an outside URL in a frame inside XOOPS 2.4.
I have the iframes mod installed and it appears to start to work then the page jumps out to display in a new page all by it's self.

Do I need iframes or is there a way of having it display in a block?

Is there another option?

I also have the masTop Publish mod and do not see how to do it there either.

Corn-fused,
Eric Hendrix

Re: Warning

Thank you both for the answers.

Thank you for the example!!!

I am a visual guy and that was a godsend! I wasn't sure where to move it to.

My site is really starting to take shape as to what I envisioned.

The help I have received here is GREAT!

Warning

Hello,

I keep getting the following warnings:

xoops_lib is inside DocumentRoot!
For security considerations it is highly suggested to move it out of DocumentRoot.

xoops_data is inside DocumentRoot!
For security considerations it is highly suggested to move it out of DocumentRoot.

When I move them things do not work right. What am I doing wrong?

Dumbfounded,

Re: New Install HELP! Please!

ghia,

I looked in the cpanel and yes there it was. I played with it a bit and yes that may have taken care of the issue but I had already done the deed. (story of my life)

But I have it for future reference.

Thank you,
Eric

Re: New Install HELP! Please!

It has been resolved!!!!

Thank you for all your assistance in this problematic time of mine.

Removing the theme did nothing. Same issue.

I decided to just bite the bullet and reinstall the whole thing. Luckily I only had a few hours into the first install. So I need to put a few more into it.

I've had worse days.

The phpmyadmin would have more than likely done the trick as well, but I was a scare-d-cat to try it.

Another great big thank you to every post I recieved in an effort to help me out.
