Sorry I no longer support this.
I left Xoops, I changed to another CMS.
It would be nice someone supports this module.

That sounds nice vaughan!

If you add those 2 features (the drop down or image select of avatar, and the step by step registration) I will migrate to Formulize.
You should consider doing it.

Hello

I run my own server, I use this configuration:

- Xubuntu (=Ubuntu=Debian) Linux
- PHP 5
- Xampp as web server
- XOOPS 2.0.15

I tested the module in localhost and it works all fine for me.
We need to test it in many computers and you all should help to fix the bugs, as I didn't developed the module, just fixed bugs, and I don't have a deep knowledge on how it works.

What configuration do you have? Tell please.

And please do the following:
1) Remove the module from XOOPS control panel, and install it again from the link I gave in previous message.
2) Look in your XOOPS database and see if you have a table called xoops_buddyfriends.
3) Ensure you have chmod properly all your XOOPS folders. Specially chmod 755 the buddyfriends folder.

There is nothing wrong in that the fuid is not posted, because in my installation it is not posted and it works ok. I think maybe the database is not created properly. See please if it exists.

Also, I must say that I tested many modules that worked ok for many people and not for me, so there is a million of reasons to a module not working.

I must encourage all people to test this module and contribute to make it work on all computers, as this is not stable at all, it seems, or we are losing something.

Hello

Try to download it again, and tell me what happens.
I noticed I uploaded a wrong version.

To upgrade or not to upgrade

Hello

I have my XOOPS site almost builded. I use XOOPS 2.0.15.

I need a very customized site, so I changed many things.
I used photo+profiles hack by m0nty, a hack of mine to display the groups in user profiles, new lines at user menu, and new buttons and fields in user profile.

So now upgrading is a pain.

What solution do I have? Do I need to upgrade? What do people usually do? If I upgrade I will overwrite many changes that I did. Some are not to hard to repeat, but others are a pain.

Thanks again

I forgot to add that the feature of adding diferent fields in user profile depending on the groups is great and may be very valuable for my site.

Hi Julian,

I will give a try to Formulize if I can, specially because if I don't rely so much in hacks I will be able to update XOOPS core without problems.

I have some questions about Formulize, maybe you can answer me.

1) Can I use Formulize with my hacked site (m0nty profiles hack and others) or will Formulize overwrite all ? Is compatible with it?
2) Can I add a drop down list with images to select avatar on new user register? I activated 2d avatar selection on register.
3) Can I add a page to select the 3d avatar with pictures of them with Formulize? I mean, having images as options.
4) Can I make a new user registration with 2 or more pages or steps like some websites do?

Thanks.

At a first glance, I see in the database of xoops, the table "modules". It has a field:

dirname -- useful for get the module admin url

Thanks for all the replys.

Your ideas are all vary vauable to me.

The XoopsMexico new control panel is nice, it improves very much the original of Xoops. I think it should be added to XOOPS core.

Unfortunelly I can't upgrade to 2.0.16 so easy. I use 2.0.15 and I have severely hacked all my site. I hacked the user profiles, the templates... so if I upgrade I will smash it all.

XoopsMexico includes something similar to my idea, I mean, the buttons for system functions. But it is not exactly what I mean.
---
I have many modules installed. Some of them I never touched again since I installed them. For example, Membros Online, or Happy Linux. Others like the Forum or Articles need to be accessed very often.

The idea is to be able to add those modules so often used to a panel, so you can add or remove there the modules buttons that you use to access very often. Like a desktop, or so.

---

Maybe I could do this with a module, as you say. It may be more easy to install and maybe other people could use it too.

--
I finally tried to fin that modification of the control panel but seems the file no longer exists.

I will try to see how the modules apear listed there, look the database and so on.

If you have some idea or info useful for this, please reply.

Thanks again,

Jordi
