Finally worked out what it was. In the .css the .bg opacity was set to 70 and the colour was wrong. IE must read this differently to netscape, so changed 2 entries and it appears to have fixed.

Thank you both sooo much for responding. Could it be that sp2 in Internet Explorer causes it to happen as my IE is sp2 not sp1. And yes that is a great description it is just like someone dimming the lights

I see a few people have had a look at this post and I am assuming that some have gone and had a look at my site. Could anyone spare the time to post a quick reply saying yes I can see what you mean or no I can't. At least if I know that someone else can see what I'm talking about then I know it is not just my machine. Thank you

I don't know if this is the right place to post this or even if it is actually XOOPS related or not, but I'm going to ask anyway. I am in the middle of revamping my websiteAnni's Aussi Links I have made a new index.html and modified a theme from petitoops and it all looks lovely (or so I thought).. I did all the mods using netscape which I have only recently returned to using and then once I did the index file thought I'd better check it out in Explorer. The index.html is fine all nice and bright white with everything looking how I thought it should, but as soon as you click on enter and go into the XOOPS part of the site it looks like someone has put a transarent bluey grey haze over the top of it. I use another php script for my link indexing and have rebuilt the html template for that as well in the same theme and that side of it is nice and bright as well so I am really bamboozled. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I have not looked at it on any other computer at this stage either as I do not have access to one at the moment so I don't know whether it might just be some local setting on my own machine, although I did try changing some of the settings in IE to no avail.

I have also just gone into the admin side in IE and everywhere that the background should be white is grey, so I have no idea what I have done.

So what rxactly is it that you need help with. Are you using XOOPS to manage your site or are you trying to work out the theme first before you go live. If you give a few more details of what it is you want then I'm sure someone would be more htan happy to help

Iam having the same problem and tried this workaround but to no avail. Nothing change. I am in Australia so when it is for instance 20/4/2005 pical is saying 19/4/2005 as today and all day events cover two days

I am having the exact same problem. I have installed several different modules and all worked fine. Tonight I uploaded some more and it did not matter which ones....none of them showed up in the admin menu. I tried deleting and reuploading which worked for one or two of them, but the one of note was wf section. I uploaded it and it showed up but as I do not need to use it just yet I did not install it. It was there in the list of modules not installed. I then uploaded another mod...not sure which one but it was not there and to top it off wf sections had disappeared too. I can not work out what the prob is but I can not get them to appear at all now even wf. The fact that it was there then not there indicates something other than the ideas suggested in this forum. As I am both a newbie and not a coder I have no idea how to fix this. The modules I want to use which I have uploaded are wf section, buddyfriends and multimenu 1.4. Hope someone has some ideas.


I was going to just post the above after I did php debug, but decided to add this bit because I appear to have solved the problem. I had the fungames mod installed and have had a 404 error the last few times I have tried to play games. With debug on I went to the admin/modules and it went boonta when it got to the games mod. I then uninstalled and deleted fungames and guess what.... prob seems to be gone. Will update if it reappears, but this may be useful for someone.

Any help here please. I would prefer to be able to use a XOOPS mod than have to install a 3rd party script
