I want my site to have only 3 public albums, into which members can upload their photos. I don't want members to create their own albums. Can I do this with xcgallery?

in your admin -> modules section, make sure you assigned the order to "0" for the module you wish to "hide" in the main menu.

I don't understand your question... are you asking where to put this tag? (The tag basically says if you have enabled some blocks to be shown in the center column, then do this...)

Could you be a bit more specific?

Can you edit an html page directly in the FreeContent module (like tinycontent) or must I edit in html editor and then upload each time I want to make a change to the webpage?

Have you tried clearing your cache file folder (your_xoops/cache) and let XOOPS regenerate new files?

1. Did you edit the login block (admin -> system admin -> blocks -> login block -> edit)?

2. Did you giver visitors permission to access the news and forum modules (admin -> system admin -> groups -> Anonymous Users -> modify -> then check the "module access rights" for both modules)?

WARNING -- check only boxes beside the "module access rights", not the boxes beside the "module admin rights".

This is the classic error message when your system is unable to connect to your database. Probably means a failure of you database server (like mysql). Check with your host.

probably a permission issue.

Go to Admin Control Panel -> Groups -> edit the "Anonymous Users" group so that you give them permission to access whatever modules/blocks you want them to access.

we are running a contest to encourage members to recommend our site to their friends and need to know how site admin (or another email address) can receive a copy of the email sent through the "recommend us" form in the Site Info block.

I guess basically when the system sends off an "recommend us" email, it also sends off a copy to admin, of which we pool and once a month randomly pick a winner.
