Permission bug in newbb2???

Even after moving a thread/post to a private forum, we are discovering that users with no permission can still view the thread/post in this private forum as long as they kept the original URL. (The original URL had a forum id# which they had permission to access.)

Is this a bug? If so, anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you.

Problem solved.

The containing block was styled to "position: relative;". Once I deleted that style, the images all showed up in IE6.

In News 1.43, my News Topic images appear/disppear base on the following:

(1) In Firefox --

No problems. All appear fine.

(2) In IE 6 --

Appear -- in index.php, when the intro text ("the scoop") is short enough to NOT have to wrap around the topic image.

Disappear -- in index.php, when intro text ("the scoop") is long enough that it has to wrap around the topic image.

Disappear -- in article.php, whenever the article text is long enough that it has to wrap around the topic image, which is the case for all my articles.

NOTE: even when the topic image disappears in IE6, the article text still wraps around a small square/white space, with the exact width/height of where the image should be. When I right-click on the blank space and select "properties", IE6 gives me the correct image path and file size, etc. It just won't show me the actual photo itself.

This is weird!!!

News 1.43 Smarty Codes?

I'm trying to display the News Topic Title in the following two templates: news_index.html and news_article.html, but have been unsucessful at finding the smarty codes. I've made other changes to these 2 templates, and they all work.

Reading the comments in both news/index.php and news/article.php, I would have thought that <{$topic_title}> would do the trick.

But I have tried <{$topic_title}>, <{$topic.title}>, and <{$topic}>, but none of them appear to work in these two templates.

Is there a smarty template variable for News Topic Title that would work in these 2 templates?

Cheers!

I'm looking for one too.

Any of the other forum modules have a build in warning system?

I have 1 template set, default.

I thought you can't edit the default template set?

I think you have to clone the default template set, then you can go ahead and edit it. (But make sure you specify the new template set in admin -> preferences -> general preferences.)

Good luck.

I gon't get it. Are you saying that shoutbox does not work?

I'm sure it does as it's in the modules repository.

Please anyone know why I have a blank shoutbox block?

Searching through the forum for the past 2 hours has yield no answers so I think I better post this:

I've installed shoutbox 3.1 and set permission for both admin & registered user.

I've enable the block to show on homepage.

The block show with title "Shoutbox" but has no content, nor any indication of how to post a shout (no text entry box, buttons, or smilies, etc).

I've uninstall/reinstalled the module already -- still same problem.

Any ideas?
