myAlbum-P is easy to use for beginners - so is xoopsgallery.

Just like I love piCal, I think xoopsgallery rocks!

my .25 cents,

Did you ever try Agendax?

Yes. I used that one but found limited support of some of the features I described.

My view of modules is, if I install it and it works the first time, good - I'll test it. If I have to mess with it, then it will be on my 'not ready for prime-time' list. With AgendaX I had to mess with it. The more I messed with it, the more I disliked it. (It is still running on a few sites I manage but they'll be migrated this weekend.) With piCal - it worked great the first time and still works! (I saw a post today with a user reporting a bug - but it appears to be minor.)

Great Calendar Module!

When I run across something good, I like to share. For a while I've been searching for a good calendar module. The IPB module has a calendar but it's not quite what I needed. There are a few that I played with but they all fell short. Yesterday I bumped into piCal. This module is great! Yes, it has some translation related shortcomings but it still is fantastic! Here are some things that make it stand out:

--> Ability to set the view level of calendar items. (An event can be posted but only viewable by XYZ group.)
--> Events spanning a time period supported.
--> Day of the week starting on Monday supported.
--> It LOOKS GREAT!
--> Excellent job of supporting reoccurring events.

Give it a try - so far I've not had any problems. (HOPEFULLY if I do have problems, there will be an English speaking person who can help with the issue.)

BUSY SITE!

May I suggest that you post your issue at the xoopsgallery site? Probably easier to get the answer from the source.

I would ask, did you, after doing the update, go into your modules and click on the 'update' icon next to your xoopsgallery?

I posted the results of my successful Watermark experiment on the official XOOPS Gallery site.

Like you said... back to the topic at hand. I took a look at the mod and found a couple of things: It looks like something I can put into XoopsGallery. It's not a permenant mark--it adds it as the pic is being pulled from the server, so it is trivial to work around. It's also using gd2 which I know little about (and why use that instead of NetPBM or ImageMagick that is already required by XoopsGallery--not that I know much about them either).

It is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure that the patch in it's current form would do what you really need. It might be better off hooked through the preprocess routine when an image is added to the gallery--then it would be permenant (and won't require being run every time the image is called, so it's better for busier sites). I'm going to stop short of saying anything definate, but I'll take a look.

I prefer leaving the originals alone . . . I'll research alternatives and will present you some ideas on the xoopsgallery site (with a new thread). I found more watermark scripts but they all seem to require GD. (A great many people compile PHP with some sort of GD support anyway.) So I'll do more testing then post the results.

THANKS!

German?

I'd say #1 "A permenant mark on [some|all] uploaded pictures to the gallery? Full size / resize / thumbs?"

Just like the examples on this site.

Thanks,

Gnik

Now I've tried both the script made for GD2 and for regular GD. . . . same - no image. Wish this script had more debugging abilities. . .

I'm SURE someone else would think this would be a GREAT add-on to xoopsgallery . . . . right? (grin)

Go to www.bbpixel.com to find the Invision Power Board Module (far superior to all other Forum's/Message Boards).

OK - back to the topic at hand. . . .

I installed the update. As I mentioned - it works GREAT! Two Thumbs Up (or Four if your a primate)!!

After updating I went back to trying to get the watermark mod to work. Same as before - so if anyone else (after the excitement of updating to make xoopsgallery WORK) ventures into trying to get watermarking to work, please share your experience.

Thanks,

Gnik
