Has anyway had a problem with the photo album module that they can't access the general settings nor the add/edit/delete catagories/pics from the admin menu?

Which photo album module? There are several, each very distinct in their state of bugs, support, and development.

If you're shopping for a new one, I would suggest XoopsGallery--it's not perfect but reasonably stable (and getting better when I have the time to improve it). You can find it at http://www.sciox.org/xoops/ .

If you use myalbum, set these permissions into 777:

module/myalbum/cache
module/myalbum/cache/config.php

But the better way is to use myAlbum-P.
This is a photo album module as "easy to use for begginers".

myAlbum-P is easy to use for beginners - so is xoopsgallery.

Just like I love piCal, I think xoopsgallery rocks!

my .25 cents,
