Jakob,

Just read this threadhttps://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=11135&forum=4&post_id=63131#forumpost63131

This guy looks like he's made a lot of progress in this area already. Maybe you could help with his English transaltion and add some features that you want/need.

Cheers,

Is this Norton rearing its ugly head again...? If you have NIS running on your local machine (not server) you need to trust your servers domain name or IP address to allow referer requests to pass through.

If so, you can find the instructions here:https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=13676&forum=21#forumpost55078

Mithy, you are of course correct. I have now permitted the referer for my site and everything is working as it should.

Thanks all for your help. It was NIS and I found it by a) looking at the Privacy log, which identified the referer block and b) by turning off the security.

Once past the "first time" page I was able to turn security back on and still access the administration page.

I'm not even sure why I've got it on to be honest, it came installed on the PC. I have a seperate firewall protecting the ADSL connection anyway...

Thanks again,

GadgetMn

I'm also getting this. Fresh install on the following:

Win2K - SP3
Swamp 0.2
Xoops 2.0.5.1

Installation was smooth (as normal). Have deleted install folder and made mainfile.php read only.

I have Norton Internet Security installed on local PC, but the server is also local and inside my firewall.

Any suggestions?

CBlue,

Thansk for the reply. I've not used sections so far but I'll take a look.

What I'm lookig to achieve is that the latest cover is always displayed. So as a new issue is released and I add the cover, the previous issue is automatically archived. Ok, automatic could mean changing a category, but I'll see what sections can do before I ask again.

Cheers,

I have an existing web site I want to convert to XOOPS (www.pan-clan.org). The home page is the cover of the groups bi-monthly magazine which automatically gets archived.

I'm hoping there is a module out there in the public domain, an existing module that could be used to do this or one that someone has written already, that will do just this.

A few things that would be really nice as part of the core would be:

* Group weighting - to determine priority of privilages
* Different landing pages per group
* Different themes per group
* Remember last accessed theme as default

The first of the above would help sort out what would be applicable or if that could get really messy, limit these features to members who only belong to s single group.

This would, for example, provide a different landing page for guests and registered users, but especially webmasters...

Themes could then support the layout and access of functionality. For example, in one site I have, all menu blocks are not visible to registered users, specialist groups have access to the Theme block which then enables them to unlock the menu's by switching themes.

Cheers,
