Even "Module Generator" would be better than ModGen.

PS. Having problems installing CDM "Too long comment for table 'xoops_cdm_list'". Will report on your support site.

This does look like what I have been looking for. I've just downloaded and will give it a try over the w/end.

Shame the name wasn't more meaningful "ModGen" has so many different meanings.

Thanks,

wizanda,

Thanks for the offer. Check your inbox for a private message. There is a Wiki and the start of a load of documentation over on Module Dev Forge which is where we can add what we do to, hopefully corrected along the way by those that know...

Thanks again,

Any chance of a simple "Hello World" module that developers could use as a framework for craeting a new module?

This would be especially useful for developers like me who, while know how to program, need to understand how XOOPS hangs together.

The new docs are a good start, but there is nothing like a well commented piece of code to walk through

This module should:
* Be installable
* Create a table
* Include a template
* Include a block
* Include a menu
* Include an admin section
* Be uninstallable

For example, if the table simply had a text column with "Hello World!" in it, the template and block would render it accordingly and the admin would allow the text to be changed.

Thanks in advance,

GadgetMn

I'm looking to write my first module and would like the help of someone who has done this before if possible.

The new documentation files explain the different elements in some detail but do everything but walk you through the building of a module...

I'm not looking to have the module written for me, I am keen to take on this task myself. What I would like to do via e-mail or Inbox is:

* Discuss requirements of module
* Help get the module off the ground
* Discuss table structures
* Building my first template
* Building my first block
* Help with administration
* Integration with other modules

All being well, this learning would then be applied back to the documentation to help other newbies...

Cheers,

Help!!!

I'm getting the following error after a fresh install of 2.0.7:

Warning [PHP]: chmod(): No such file or directory in file D:\Clients\marketingcrew.co.uk\htdocs\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 2062

The line itself is

chmod($filename, $this->_file_perms);

rabideau,

Thanks for this. It's simple enough, needs some work around the edges and the templates could be better organised, but it's a great start thanks.

I've also found that there is a much later version on SourceForge which differs to that listed in the thread. Have just downloaded it but have yet to give it a dry run.

Thanks again,

Does anyone know of a simple project management module for Xoops?

At this stage I simply need to be able to create projects (admin) and then have users log their hours and expenses against them.

Client tells me they would like to expand this in the future hence the request for a PM module before writing a very simple bespoke module for them.

Cheers,

Knowing this already I set the Order to 0 for TinyContent, but the link still doesn't disappear from the main menu. Is anyone else having this problem?
