A very similar thing happened to me this afternoon.

I cloned the templates so I could play with them, I noticed that the cloned set did not have all of the template files, so I told it to "generate files", I got a message saying something like "Generating files..." and it just hung there like that.
Then I noticed that my site was "scrambled", it looks like everything is there, just all out of whack, with some blocks/modules pushed to the bottom or side.

I tried updating things, but that has not helped.

I am using the latest XOOPS version. Maybe this is a bug?

I am going to try to re-upload the original template set and see what happens.

I am trying to do the exact opposite, from newbb to xphpbbi

Fragments that I need are in this templates (templates->blocks->...):

I think I am wanting the same thing! I also think that the RSS-1.1 module would do this with the "Whats New" hack that Ken did. (I have not gotten that to work either)

At my site I am using xfsection:

But I really hate the way it is laid out on the page.

The "Main Menu" has the 'sections' names in a column on the right side, and thats fine, but then the 'description' collumn is this big wide area that is not really needed for my purposes, and then the 'articles' column pushed all the way over on the right side, with the headlines/title all shortened, and looking too bunched up.

I took a swing at remaking the template but I failed. I am ASSUMING that it is the templates that control how this is laid out?

What I need is the section (Or is that 'catagories'?) collumn on the right, like it is, then in the center column the article titles/headlines, and a brief summery either indented just under them, or in the right hand column.

I thought that I could do this with the RSS-1.1 module and a block or two, but I just cant get that working.

Can anyone please please please help me?

Has anyone ever come up with a better solution?

I really need a module that does what this one says it should.

I am having the exact same problem as you.

Backendjs.php troubles.

I tried making a custom block, using the javascript RSS feed offered in the "link to us" section. I wanted to use this block on another site so it would show the news feeds from one of my sites in the other as a center block.

It didnt work. It does not show up at all in the other site, and when I paste the URL in my browser this is the error messages I get.
Can someone figure this out for me please?

I am not the fastest knife in the christmass tree....So I have been unable to figure out how to do the multisites thing.

I tried installing your module and doing the hacks, but I FUBARED my site completely...it came back once I uninstalled, so all is well.

But I need three or four sites, basicly sub-domains, with slightly different themse and content but the ability to add news stories and whatnot ONCE and have it appear on ALL of the sub domain sites (Or certain sections repeated on certain sites, but not others)
And maybe ALL of these sites sharing a forum?

I also manage a different site/domain that is hosted on the SAME server/host, but a DIFFERENT account, and I would like to be able to update that one from my other site as well.

If I understand this, your module will do all of this?

And Im just a dummy for not being able to get it working?

I am thinking of doing a completely fresh install on my original site (http://www.topekadiy.com) and catching up to XOOPS 2.0.7, aqnd THEN trying your mod again.

Any suggestions? Any step by step dummy-proof instructions for boneheads?

And, I have been too scared of the short url hack....Ive been getting clobbered by the search engines and would love to have cleaner URLs.

within a glossery or wordbook module?

I would love that, Im sure others would too!

BTW: Whats up with that wordbook module? I cannot find it anywhere! Where can I download it at? And has it been updated?

Im lost.
This is probably so obvious that I am just not seeing it.

EXACTLY where is my php.ini file

And HOW and WHERE EXACTLY do I turn register_globals on or off?

Please draw me a map or something, Ive done searches and read faqs and whatnot but I am just not figuring this out!

Any progress on this? I am very interested, but I do not posess the skills to jump in and help out.

I really really really really NEED a friendster foaf social networking module for my site!

I know I am not the only one....

Is there anything like this available that will run on xoops?
Or maybe some stand alone freeware that might work?
