I think this is right....
In previous versions of Xoops, in order to display banners, you "had" to have a banner image to go with it.... that didn't go too well for those who do the banner exchange thing and had a javascript, or some html supplied by the exchange.... so, in the current verison, the ability to use HTML instead of a banner is now supported..... which brings me to the answer to your original question.... instead of adding the banner, simply use the a href = "your site" w/o the target element, and you should be good to go.
DISCLAIMER: I have not had the chance to try this, so I cannot/will not guarantee it will work. It is based on what I suspect to be true.

Hi y'all
just move to new server and decide to change from just plain html website to xoops.
I'm still new at this, can you guys help me on how to create my own custom menu or add links to main menu with links directed to specific page without using module or is there a module existed that can help me to do the things.
one more thing, how to center the partner image inside the blocks... I've tried edit the template but still looks the same.

How can I make my banners load a page on the same site with out the new pop up window? Also what can I use the html box for in the banner section? Any code examples...

It was due to an incorrectly created table. Probably an error with the cpanel installer, but not positive.
Could you please post here again if the same solution works for you? If so, I'd also be interested in knowing the specific hoster and the specific version of the cpanel installer (fantastico?)... Thanks!

My host is Arteryplanet.net but they do not directly support the Fantastico installer, they are contacting the appropriate developer for a fix.
I have no idea what version of cPanel my host is running, but it should be the latest, stable build.

This is caused by an error in kernel/notification.php
You could get the the current notification.php fromhttps://xoops.org/general/cvs.php or fix it by yourself.
