Downloaded. . . testing . . . .
it reports that it is version .7

Nice changes! Batch upload with auto-genre works!

I see the obvious 'need to finish' places - but it is going in the right direction! Kewl kewl Kewl.

Thanks for allowing us to preview the next version.

QUESTION: In English, "Debase" means "To lower in character, quality, or value; degrade." I also know that Debaser is a band from Canada. So what is behind the name of this module? Could the module name play a factor in it's downloading/use?

Is your server Linux or Windows? If Linux I wonder if there is anything different as far as audio processing stuff? (Just guessing here.)

Have you posted anything in [b]News[\b] about this module being updated?

I think it goes this way:
1. Download module
2. What happens?
2.1 It works ! Yeah - never hear from them again.
2.2 It does not work. Delete it. Never Hear from them again.

Ummm . . . still no auto-genre on batchload. This time it DOES move a file (but just one) but nothing gets added to the database, nor is that one file available to listen to.

YEAH! The Theme ccs is being honored. Plus when you play the song after clicking 'More information' it is the correct size. Looking GOOD!

Yes - I think this module is great. I have plans for it's use . . (evil grin).

THANKS!

BTW: Noticed 'Hilfe' should be 'Help' in the admin portion of the module. In your language file (modinfo.php) it's correctly listed. . . . can't find where the problem is in the code . . . still searching . . .

One more note - when I click on the module - my Theme css works fine. When I go further by clicking on the Genre, my text looks ugly on the site and a blue background is forced onto the surrounding XOOPS area. (I can take a screenshot if you would like.)

[RANT] Did I mention that this module ROCKS?? [/RANT]

Here is something.
When you click on the module, select the genre and click on the 'play' icon - everything looks great.
When you click on themodule, select the genre and click 'More Information' then click on the 'play' icon - the window it opens is WAY too large.

But so far, other than the auto-genre thing I mentioned earlier, .7 rocks!

Hey - WORKS GREAT! Thanks for making it work with register_globals off!!

I noticed that, in your preferences, if you told it to auto-select the genre, batch uploads won't work. So turn that off. Also make sure the files in the batch upload area have the right permissions.

Still tesing it - but it's light years better than the previous version IMHO.

Thanks!

how do you create categories? I clicked on Edit Genres but didn't see anything on the page.

Upload a song and then see if you get categories. If you don't see any afterwards, that's what you will see when your using PHP with register_globals = off

No time to review code - but in the meantime, on one of the servers I added these line to the vhost config for the domain:

<Directory "/<path-to-the-site>/modules/debaser">
php_value register_globals 1
</Directory>

This allowed the module to function.

Need to examine the inability of this module to read ID3v2 tags.

I will look into this shortly.

On one of the servers directories, I enabled register_globals. Now everything works! I switched back to the default settings and it doesn' work.

This weekend (if I get a chance) I'll look thru the code and help you convert it to work properly with PHP 4.X (As you know, since 4.X code, register_globals by DEFAULT is off).

Overwriting core files is necessary to add functionality. It's a necessary evil but a safe one. After hundreds of installs I can say it works like a charm.

The added functionality and tight integration sets it apart from all other forums.

A good rule to follow with any module will help in this instance too - backup files/data before installing any module.
