great module, was just wondering (before diving in) if any future enhancements planned in near future?

Yes, there some things planned to be included, but I have to work on my other project first.

Next versions of debaser will have:
- notifications
- including mpegs
- playlists for winamp
- implementing iradio-functionality
- ...

Unfortunately I can give no ETA for the next debaser version.

Suggestions:

1) Allow users to process pre-existing files on their server. (This will help people migrate from other modules to this one.)

2) I like the idea of the static Genre model. Sure - they should be able to ADD to the list but the standard Genre list would help others standarize. . . IMHO.

Now for the problem:

Does this 'play nice' with 'register_globals = off' - asking because I can't seem to get anything to work right. I can upload but it wont recgonize the ID3 Tag info. I try to edit it and nothing sticks. I try and save the media player defaults - nothing changes. That usually means that it wants 'register_globals = on' --> no can do. Or maybe it's something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Batch processing will do this, I guess. They only have to move the files to the batchload folder and do the batch processing.

On one of the servers directories, I enabled register_globals. Now everything works! I switched back to the default settings and it doesn' work.

This weekend (if I get a chance) I'll look thru the code and help you convert it to work properly with PHP 4.X (As you know, since 4.X code, register_globals by DEFAULT is off).

No time to review code - but in the meantime, on one of the servers I added these line to the vhost config for the domain:

<Directory "/<path-to-the-site>/modules/debaser">
php_value register_globals 1
</Directory>

This allowed the module to function.

Need to examine the inability of this module to read ID3v2 tags.

great module - love it -
i would like to request some features

1 - user can add songs : User can upload, or just provide external link

2 - categories of songs

3 - hot link protection : disallow people to link songs to other site

4 - Rating

how do you create categories? I clicked on Edit Genres but didn't see anything on the page.

also, could you add a feature allow user to just provide the link to the song instead of upload?

thanks so much. can't wait to see the comming release
