Newbb 2 Final - how to fix problem with double blocks in admin?

I've upgraded to NewBB 2 final version but I've noticed in blocks administration that my blocks are listed twice. I believe this was true before the upgrade too. I'm running XOOPS 2.0.7.3.

I installed the new main.php from SourceForge here. It's not clear to me what is supposed to happen next but I still have the double blocks listed in the admin screen. Is there a way to delete the duplicates? Is there something more I'm supposed to do after uploading main.php?

It's like car repairs... the problem disappears when the mechanic is investigating. But the problem persists and seems to happen randomly. It happens in IE and Firefox. I assume those drop down menus are Javascript.

The exact problem is all of the drop down menus expand, forcing the menu bar wide. It occurs when opening a forum or a topic and even sometimes when opening the module. Refreshing does not make it go away. Sometimes opening a different topic or forum fixes it.

Has no one else experienced this? Is there a cure?

When you highjack topics, you waste other people's time. If you have a question, start your own topic for better results. This topic has nothing to do with installing newbb2.

I wonder if extremelee is talking about the same problem I'm having... newbb2 rc3 notifications don't "stick". I set my notifications to be emailed about any new post, but once I log out and come back, the notification is no longer selected. Tried it several times with different notifications options, same result.

I've experienced the same problem - occasionally the top menu bar and the drop menus expand and stay open, then the links don't work. I've made sure <{$xoops_module_header}> is in the right place, updated my theme/template files, cleared cache -- all the suggestions I've read in this forum. The problem persists. I might have missed it but I don't remember phppp or predator commenting on this problem. Hopefully they're aware of it and have an idea to fix it. A minor inconvenience for knowledgeable users, a "broken forum" for casual users (90% of my audience). Not complaining. GREAT module. Well done.

I've searched the site and can't find Newbb 2.0 RC2 in the module repository. The only news item I've found regarding it seems to be disabled:https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1774 I've been unable to find any announcements about RC2 being withdrawn due to some problem or other. Yet there are discussions continuing as if it's still alive.

Anyone know where to find it?

Crisis resolved: Re: 2.0.7.3 upgrade - all navigation goes to login, no admin access

Crisis resolved. I reloaded each upgrade from 2.0.5.2 thru 2.0.7.3 being careful to make sure each file made it across to the server and stopping to check the site between each patch. It works fine now.

I'll probably never know what happened to screw it up in the first place but I have noticed that if I upload multiple layers of folders, Smart FTP sometimes doesn't drill down to the deepest folder and get everything. So I guess my lesson is to open each folder one at a time and upload only files.

Thanks for reading.

I re-read my plea for help and realize maybe I forgot to ask the right questions...

Why can I log in but can't I access any pages except the login screen?

Is there a way to get to admin without going through the user menu so I can turn my site back on? I triedhttp://sitename/admin.php but that just takes me back to login too.

I've thought of trying to upload all the upgrades again but I'm afraid the more things I blindly try, the worse I'll make it. I have too many hours invested and too many users waiting to risk causing irreparable damage.

Xoops is a fabulous program and the help here is always first rate... I hope someone can help me get back on track. I'll do everything I can to provide more information if needed.

Thanks!
