Q: about NewBB 2.0 version 2 (2.0)

In the notifications options for this board i've allowed my users to click the Global: New forums and New posts options. However, when a new post is posted the Notify of new posts option appears unticked and NO notifications are given.

To get round this, does anyone know if there is a way to set this option as default/permenant. So users will always be notified of new posts regardless?

thanks.

huum
i think u want send notification for any new post in your forum to users automatically by default do you?
but i also think users must be free to choose any notifications so any user can choose own notification.
by the way i think you cant do this without hack in files( im not sure)

it can be done with hacking code, but as irmtfan says users shud be free to choose. a lot wouldn't apreciate receiving lots of emails telling them new posts have been added etc..

also it would put more strain and use more resources on the server if these were set to permanent.. especially if the site is busy and gets quite a few posts per day.. ur server host might not appreciate it either..

I wonder if extremelee is talking about the same problem I'm having... newbb2 rc3 notifications don't "stick". I set my notifications to be emailed about any new post, but once I log out and come back, the notification is no longer selected. Tried it several times with different notifications options, same result.

Questions 2:

Anyone know a way to turn off the forums automaticaly at say midnight, and then back on again at 8am in the morning?

I want this feature so I can stop people from abusing the forums when they know myself and my other mods are asleep

Even if it means using cron or something.

Hi everybody,
I'm having problems installing the new NewBB Version 2.

When I click on the forum module it works but when I go to the admin page, this is what I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: xoops_cp_header() in /home/aghandou/public_html/4elol.net/xoops/modules/newbb/admin/index.php on line 162

When you highjack topics, you waste other people's time. If you have a question, start your own topic for better results. This topic has nothing to do with installing newbb2.
