The site features news, articles on various topics relevant to Christian musicians, web link directory, message boards, shareware downloads, and other tools to assist musicians in their ministry.
Commenting on the website launch, founder and owner Jerry Jurden says, "We are excited to be able to offer a place on the web where Christian musicians can gather, exchange ideas and information, and pursue their passion and calling through interaction with others of like mind, faith, and interests. It is our vision for MusicianPoint.com to be a very community-driven site. We encourage article and news submissions from our members, and have provided a large forum section with relevant subject areas to stimulate discussion."
The content is built around several topic areas, or "channels", typically familiar to musicians, including such subjects as booking, equipment, marketing, promotion, ministry, music business, live sound, and others.
Jurden continues, "There is just so much information on the internet, both Christian and secular, that Christian musicians could use in their regular ministry activities. Our mission is to gather that information into one portal where our members can not only communicate, but can also find what they need from other resources on the net, such as equipment reviews, booking agents, or whatever they are looking for. Additionally, there are many other services and features we are planning to implement on our site in the near future."

Note to Xoops Community:
This site is still on Xoops 1.3.5. I had several changes I wanted to make to the core and decided to branch at version 1.3.5. I will be manually retrofitting 1.3.6-8 at a later time. Most of these changes were cosmetic in nature and I have not made any database changes other than adding new tables for third-party modules. Therefore, I still have the option of upgrading to 2.0, but will have to re-introduce any changes I want to keep. I am using the nsections module for articles, and I cloned the "Contact Us" form and created a new module from it to allow users to submit articles via email. Please check out the site and give me some feedback.
