Just dl'ed Mozilla tonight and have been running it around the web for a bit. It seems a bit leaner and meaner than IE so far but it's kind of early for me to tell. The memories sure are flooding back from the old Netscape days, for sure.

Anyone out there been using it for a while and could recommend whether I ought to keep it, or maybe forget this silly notion about looking into other browers? Thanks in advance.

I use Firefox (the browser) and Thunderbird (the mail client) from Mozilla. Apart from a few glitches, nothing substantial IMO, I'm not looking back. Both of them are awesome. There are so many plugins and utilities on them that I think they are well worth using. I would use them full time except that my PocketPC syncs via Outlook.

I use Mozilla and I like it. But I use the calendar and mail functions as well, while FIreFox is just the browser.

The great thing about Mozilla (and related XUL based browsers) is that there are a lot of plugins available.

Have a look at mozdev.org, for a complete overview. There is i.e. a search engine bookmark plugin called needlesearch or a HTTP headers viewer called livehttpheaders.

In my opinion, the sooner you get rid of MSIE and Outlook (with or without Express) the better.

Essential anything else is better, faster and more secure.

I've used Mozilla since the 1.0 days & it can be a little flaky at times when you have multiple tabs open but other than that it is great. Its also my understanding that it is more compliant to standards than any other browser out there.

I, too, like Mozilla better than IE. I have noted a few anoyances though... although they are mostly personal (probably ).

1. Password management is bothersome on forms (like XOOPS admin forms, where it asks if you want to store this data).
2. Flash layering doesn't work (an IE only thing, I think).

But mostly I don't like the fact that 95% of the world uses IE...

Stick with Mozilla, it is quite good and stable (Composer is pretty nice too). But remember we are still forced to develop for an IE world.
