Burning has done a good job of compiling a list over at babylonbyxoops.net. However, I would really like to see this being addressed in the module repository (yes, I know it is a matter of time and priorities etc, but I'm not complaining, I'm just presenting an idea
).
I would like to change the form where you add/edit module downloads and substitute "Platform" for "Developed for" (or words to that effect) and then add a listbox with the same options as in the "Developed for" dropdown (minus whatever option was chosen in "Developed for") and name it "Compatible with", where you can select all XOOPS versions it is compatible with.
The values from the two controls above would then be shown (preferably as small icons as I find it catches the eye better) in the list of modules in the repository so that you can quickly see the platform info and determine if this module will work for your installation.
This would not address the PHP4 vs PHP5 issue, but I hope that problem will pass as no newer modules are developed for PHP4.
I realize this would take some modifications to the module repository, e.g. new db field, logic for writing and presenting, and icons, but it shouldn't be too complicated. Maybe I'll have a go at a prototype
