Notifications (email) for Private Message (PM) in Inbox?

Is it possible to set a Notifications (via email) option for Private Messages in the Inbox? Several of my users just use Notifications to email and don't actually login to the site regularly so don't know they have PMs in the Inbox. Is there a way to send and email Notification for a new Inbox message?

Not using the standard XOOPS PM system.

However, I've recently installed Lord Venom's mpmanager 2.63 which does this and a whole lot more. Highly recommended by me at least

It installs much like a any other module, but there's a directory in the download called "Root". Don't upload this with the rest of the files - upload its contents to their corresponding place in your file set-up, overwriting the existing files. Keep a backup of these few (3, IIRC) files in case you ever want to uninstall the module.

I think there is a Hack for this.
i was going to try it out soon, but if you do a search for it you may find it.

That hack did not work for me. I use correct XOOPS version that is compatible with it.

I tried to install this hack a year ago and it did not work then either.

Maybe I missed something..but it seems pretty simple.

Sorry to haul this old thread out of the mire, but... :)

Is there a way to activate Notifications options for the PM module in XOOPS 2.3.3? I also have some users who would like to be sent emails when they are PM'd.

(Naturally, I'd prefer it is they just kept coming back to the website to check for themselves--but this is what they're asking for... )
