When a ping is routed to the wrong IP and when a DNS query is reporting the wrong IP, then it is definitly a kind of a DNS problem and not a site hacking problem.
However it is possible that some DNS servers itself are subject to hacking or some malicious induction.
But as both XOOPS.org and the Brazilian site are on the same net of HostDime.com, Inc. Orlando FL: 66.7.192.0 - 66.7.223.255 (66.7.192.0/19), I assume an internal problem with the hoster.

Yesterday & today, between 4 hours around chco2 wrote. I think than this isn´t a dns issue... look really like a malicious action or code.

After i wrote this post, problems turn back. So, i decided to use CCleaner, because i suspect than this can be a malicious code or similar...why? Because doesn´t matter when i use proxies, so it´s really suspicious.

Once in a time i use CCleaner, i can write again over XOOPS forum. Suspicious, strange? I don´t know, but i think about hack or similar who install a redirection over our computers.

Taking a look...

I didn't observe any problems today. (Did some posts in the period etc.)
I don't believe in a problem with the local users PC's and assume the 'related' timeframe coincidential.
The data for the DNS were obtained from a site which server has done the query and came up with the same results as I expierenced on my PC. Furthermore that site is not related to my adsl connection and is probably using other servers than (194.119.228.67 and 193.74.208.65) to get the DNS translation done.

Re: DNS ISSUE - Xoops.org & dev.xoops.org has been redirected

Ghia,

i´m not sure about it. It occurs two times more... but when surfing with proxies or user webs like anonymouse, doesn´t matter anything.

I have on Hispaxoops a little button with a XOOPS link, and disappear when problem back.

I´m not sure if the problem is my ISP, Surpass or any kind of code, but this isn´t a DNS issue. But i don´t know exactly where is the problem.

There iss still a couple of countries we have not recieved a ping or hit from in the Africian Continent as well as a low hit rate from oceanic area (Australia)..

Apart from that the who's online is ever increasing and bounces are down a bit, so it looks like it may have been resolved. I will keep and eye on it over the next couple of days.
