Depending on the target religion (?), you may find a theme in the theme library that fits the style of the religion.
Else look at the sites of your collegues and adapt a theme that resembles in form.

Well I am actually looking for something more towards a "memorial" theme. I am creating another site for a family member who lost her husband and wants a memorial. I just thought "religion" might be the appropriate key word to use for suggestions. Any thoughts?

I would say choose a theme around a something that defines him or shows the way they want to remember him (sport - hobby - family - ...).
If that is to painful, choose a theme with some eternal value (blossom - stylistic - minimalistic - ...).
Do not choose a dark or a frivolous theme.
