"Profiles" as was standard in XOOPS versions 2.2.x , or if that is not possible, at least this one line modification

Come to think of it, 2.3 is meant to be an upgrade from 2.2.x , and as 2.2.x has the profiles, then 2.3 will have to have the profiles as well I guess ??
NO to the Microsoft Office format as an ISO standard.

Not sure if this has been considered for this release. I did see requests for it earlier:

After building several sites with XOOPS I started experimenting with Drupal and Joomla. I have to agree with tzvook - those others are prettier but I keep coming back to XOOPS for usability and support. I can't wait for 3.0!

Here are some key advantages of those:
Drupal - core installation, multi-site option, easy upload of new logo and favico
Joomla! - module installation - it doesn't get easier than Joomla's installation options, even directly from a web link

Thanks and good luck! Wish I knew PHP better so I could actually help.

You don't need to know PHP to help with XOOPS. You can help us with documentation, with cleaning up the Wiki or FAQ. It might be not as exciting as PHP development, but it always provides a big help to the community.

Please contact me if you would like to be involved in any of this.

I concur 100%. The added functionality of Extended Profiles in 2.2.X is essential. It doesn't matter if it is a separate module, as long as that module can import the data from the 2.2.X data when the upgrade it done.

Extensible profile engine is for sure a MUST for XOOPS.
In XOOPS 3.0 we will have a module redesigned and developed from ground. Thus we will not spend much time on profile in 2.3.0, however we might migrate 2.2 profile in to 2.3.2 or 2.4.0, depends on how much resource can be allocated.

Anyway, we will try to import 2.2 user data into a placeholder table waiting for 3.0

BTW: currently most of my XOOPS time is on 3.0 design and development, not on 2.3

I know that phppp was going to look into it.

If somebody does it before he gets to it, please post the solution here.

I had to use "text" mode for register.php but I cannot figure how to change from image to text mode for xtcgallery. A single uniform methodology for all addons would be nice.
