All those are correct in phpmyadmin
admin 1
user 2
anon 3

All 3 users (original admin and 2 tests) have been set to admin group via phpmyadmin.

Is it poss that it's something in mainfile.php? I did edit that to resolve to the domain name, but that was all I changed.

I'm about to give up and start over
DJ

Thanks Jensclas,

Been there...
Done that....

And in MySQL DB, user menu block shows as visible (value 1)

Some of this issue just isn't seeming logical.
Is there a way to reset all the values in the DB to defaults via the phpmyadmin interface?
DJ.

maybe some of the tables in the db are corrupted..

check the xoops_session table and do a repair on it.

but also check that your firewall or whatever is not blocking http referalls to your site.. add it to the trusted list if pos (worth checking anyway)

Not firewall or anything like that, I can access other sites fine.

Did a repair on the session table AND the entire DB for good measure...still nothing.

Thanks Monty,
DJ.

Thanks all for the input. Never did pinpoint the cause, best guess it was the older version xcgal installation.

Was quicker to start over.

hi if i understand correct you had a problem seeing you as admin! did you use absolut links instead of the 'xoops code' ones? If you try to link like that http://yoursite.com/modules/xcgal/ then it wont see you as admin! if you use this kind of link code {xoops_url}/modules/xcgal then you wont have a problem! If this is the case of course! I had that kind of problem! You can try it.
