Registered users submit articles on my sites using the news module. They are not pre-approved, so I have to go in and approve them. When I do, the username for the submitter is mine. I have tried the assign the correct user via the provided interface. I can find users and select their names, but after I've clicked their name to assign them as the article's author, nothing happens.
The only way that I can assign correct usernames to their respective articles is through phpmyadmin - not an ideal situation, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
The problem has been discussed frequently in the forums, but I don't recall seeing a remedy.
Another possible bug is the lack of an intro text section for registered users. They don't see "The Scoop" and "Extended Text" sections with the news module. I know that a hack has been devised to workaround this issue, but modules get upgraded and the hack may not work anymore.
Anyway, kudos to hervet (and all the developers) for the work that you share freely with us. You guys bust your tails daily and you're all to be commended.
