login home page redirect problem

When users login to my site they are directed to what appears to be some random URL in the site. For instance a thread in newbb. When I set the Module for start page in Preferences it does change the Home link on the menu. But when I log off I can see that the hidden xoops_redirect for the log on is pointing to the random URL.

Where would this be getting set?

This was happening before my upgrade to 2.5.4 and continues. It does not happen in my test site.

Since I upgraded to 2.5.3 the xoops_cache directory keeps growing. Xoops is generating a file xoops_3af261d8_page_065580d0-english-3.php very often. The hex value after page_ is the only difference. The contents of this file is a php array that contains the htmlHeadStrings info. In the last 24 hours there are 8200+ files with that name pattern.

What generates this file?

I used xoops2.4.5-to-2.5.3.zip downloaded today, Oct 8. Using 7zip,

xoops2.4.5-to-2.5.3.zip\xoops2.4.5-to-2.5.3\htdocs\modules\system\templates\blocks\

contains

system_block_comments.html
system_block_login.html
system_block_newusers.html
system_block_notification.html
system_block_search.html
system_block_siteinfo.html
system_block_themes.html
system_block_topusers.html

no main menu

I just upgraded my site to 2.5.3 and lost my main menu.

I found that system_block_mainmenu.html is missing from modules/system/templates/blocks . I restored it from backup and everything else appears to be working.

Great job on the upgrade. I like the changes to the control panel.

This may be a relevant detail. I did not find an upgrade directory in the xoops-2.5.1a.zip so I ran the install. You know if does not work just install it again :)

I upgraded on my local install. Everything appears to work except the admin. The control panel home only has System Configuration and Help icons.

Errors show $adminmenu not defined in /modules/system/themes/default/default.php line 106. This occurs because $xoopsModule is null. I am not sure where or how it is supposed being initialized.

Any info would be appreciated.

When you use the mail user part of the admin. It would be nice if the email included a link to unsubscribe
