Ok, It's been a while since I have upgraded. I recently tried to install Newbb2 on a core 2.0.0.7

I seem to be having some issues. I decided to upgrade the core files so I could be sure I had the latest files to support the Newbb2. However in attempting to do so, I can't seem to locate the appropriate upgrade. I would get slap happy and just try some experiments, however the site I need to do this on is very important and I can't afford to screw this up.

What I am asking is, is there an upgrade for me? I have v. 2.0.0.7 (old I know)... I need to update everything, and I didn't want to just overwrite everything with the latest FULL version if there was a chance this thing would fall apart in my lap and I'd be left with a heap of files and tables that were junk in the end.

It is critical I get these updates squared away ASAP. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Is there any particular reason and upgrade system isn't included in the core? Ya know, where it reads your current version and provides an automatic update to upgrade ytour current files? Just curious, ne way... Please help with above issue. The help I need is Psychiatric and Technical. I'll settle for the Technical at this time.

Ok, I installed a new instance of xoops. Check this out.

http://www.clanmagazine.com/mag turns up cannot be found.

http://clanmagazine.knightvisionstudios.com/mag/ shows it exists and was installed, however images are not found.

I logged in and got again "not found".

I'm almost certain now its the host, what's your thoughts?

I recently relocated to a new host.

I packed up old database (gzipped) dropped it on the new host in phpMyAdmin.

NOTE: Not sure if I packed it right, not sure if it unpacked right. I can see tables, they appear to be the same.

NOTE: Old database name was "clandestine" new database requires prefixes ie: "knight_clandestine" same goes for username.

I transferred orig. files over to new host. Edited mainfile.php to reflect new database name, username and password.

Now every time I attempt to access the site, I get this:

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34

Now... The following page called "Xoops Troubleshooting Page" seems to be of absolutely no value in this case. It doesnt even provide a solution for this type of problem!

Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something? Does the old database need packed a certain way, (What are the settings in EXPORT), does it need to be UNPACKED a certain way? Is there a file I'm missing that needs to be altered?

I will be ever so grateful to whoever can provide THE solution to my problem. I have 3 other sites that need to be transferred ASAP, and I don't even want to attempt them until I resolve the issue with the first one.

Someone please provide assistance.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: I even attempted to delete all orig. files, install new instance of xoops. I still get the same page.

I tried finding another topic with same problem. Some others have gotten this page after relocating, but issues seemed to differ slightly. Enough so, that an answer was not found. If I missed the appropriate post, please let me know.

Well, I figured it out. Somehow all the cache, templates and uploads folders were being CHMOD'd back to 755. Not sure how, but I doubled checked again this morning right after my post.

I changed permissions back to 777 and problem solved.

Sorry to waste any ones time on this one.

Thanx for the reply. Appreciate your time.

Ok, folks. Here it is. I have been running several sites (xoops 2.0.6) from my account. All have their own database, each is a seperate hosting account on a primary account I own.

Now I have had great success with XOOPS until now. Hoping this is simple, but not sure.

I am noticing now that several areas of my sites won't update. For instance, my waiting contents will not display in a block. I noticed other modules failed to display, ie. freecontent module, etc. The theme page does not update any longer either. (YES, Update module template is turned on.)

The last module I installed was the LIENS (link to us) module. The confusing part is, that ALL of my sites are acting this way. I have spoken to Tech Support (HOST) about possible cache problems. They say there is no hidden cache file that I don't have access to. I have cleared my own cache on Local Machine. Still no go.

I am utterly baffled at how all the sites stopped updating at the same time. I could realy use some help!

At the bottom of the adult site I am currently building, there are several links I have added. I am still seeing unlinked text which is where I stopped before the update probs started.

If any one else can see links to items such as ADSERVER, SALES, SUPPORT, and compliance notice at the bottom, then I know pages are updating I just can't see the changes. If not, then I do have a problem. And I would believe it to be on my local machine before the server. Unless maybe I corrupted something???

I could realy use some professional help. Psychiatric, yes... But Technical would be good for now.

Thank You in advance for your time.

Here is the current site in question:
