Upgrading 2.0.16 to 2.5.1a

I am looking at upgrading a old site from 2.0.16 to the latest but first problem I encountered is that the install instructions tell me to put the "upgrade" folder (this is in 2.5.1a) into the htdocs folder after unzipping the download. One small problem in the zip file there is no "upgrade" folder... Help?

Second where do I look to get someone to upgrade the site for me? I can do it but I would prefer to get someone to do it for me. Here is the site:

Collaborative spreadsheet or table

I need to have a spreadsheet or table that allows for a sort function to automatically update itself. Specifically a polling/voting table such that people can add suggestions and also vote for suggestions already made. Also to have the table auto-sort according to the most popular.

Possible?

I am ashamed I just cant follow these simple directions and feel very out of place here so bear with me....

According to the clone guide in the module:

Step #1: set the value for $GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"], for say, "pdb" (required)

Ok I have found the "$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]" in the Xoops_Version.php file but and what exactly do I change:

1.All the "planet" terms to "pdb"?

2.Or is there one global change I need to make?

3.Should I change something in this quote from the file xoops_version.php
"// database tables
$modversion["sqlfile"]["mysql"] = "sql/mysql.sql";
$modversion["tables"] = array(
$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]."_category",
$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]."_article",
$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]."_blog",
$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]."_blogcat",
$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]."_bookmark",
$GLOBALS["MOD_DB_PREFIX"]."_rate"
);
"
i.e. add 'pdb' to '_category' to get 'pdb_category'? If that is the case then why are these not already prefixed with 'planet' as in step #2?

4. Or am I in the wrong file?

Quote:

Step #2: edit /sql/mysql.sql, change all table prefix to the specified value "pdb". For example, change "CREATE TABLE `planet_article`" to "CREATE TABLE `pdb_article`" (required)
Note: leave field names as they are

This I understand...
Quote:

Step #3: change all template name prefix to the new module dirname, including all templates in /templates/ and /templates/blocks/. For example, change planet_index.html to newmodule_index.html (required)

This I understand....
Quote:

Step #4: install the cloned module as regular

This I understand...

I am so close yet so far.....

Ben

Thank you for all your help

Well I guess i have to higher someone to help me as all of this is cryptic to me....

To bad that I just don't get it.

I need basically a lot of hand holding here... Or even a online location to let me learn where the MySQL character set or the Server Instance Wizard is?

Here are the sort of instructions that I would need to get me going.

1. Login to Godaddy
2. Go to Hosting control panel
3. Select MySQL Database
4. ???????
5. ???????
6. ???????

Anyone want to make a quick buck to do one (from what I can tell) quick and easy task?

Anyone want to help me decode this? I am not sure how to do this and I desperately need to...

my httpd.conf (apache2) came with UTF8 encoding, I changed it back to
AddDefaultCharset ISO-8859-1

PLEASE????

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem... But unfortunately I do not understand how you corrected the problem...

Any chance you could help me by doing a step by step solution. Keep in mind I did not install the back end, this was pre done by Godaddy for me.

Yes XOOPS Forge is where this is from

XOOPS Version:
XOOPS 2.0.16

XOOPS Theme:
phpkaox

XOOPS Template Set:
default

PHP Version:
4.3.11

MySQL Version:
4.0.27-max-log

Server Software:
Apache

And the version of Planet is 2.02

I agree a very nice module and it would be an outstanding one if I could just have category links preferably at the top of the module display but even to have the links in a side bar would be great!

Thank you for your time in helping me

Ben

How do I show category links in Planet?

I need to display them in a block above the block containing the module.

I am sure I am missing the obvious...

Help?
