It's been about 21 days since I wrote the first post in this thread. Figured I bump this subject once to see if others have comments or are experiencing the same problem I have.

Problem: My reviews of Modules are not appearing.

In any case, I'm exploring other options so Module Reviews may not be a problem for me in the near future.

Review of Modules Posting Problems

I have posted both a request for troubleshooting and a review about a module I have been having trouble with in the Module Repository "Be the first person to review Module XXXXXX".

They never show up!

While I understand moderators get busy and things happen, the reviews of modules in the Module Repository is critical to XOOPS users when trying to determine what modules to use on their sites.

With the "Module Dev Forge" site down and no restore time in sight and the XOOPS AddOn Site down, the only option is to install a module, fiddle with it and hope it works. If this method is how XOOPS intends it to be, then so be it. But if there is a problem with Module Reviews, then maybe this problem needs to be addressed?

Is this a complaint? Yes! Is it a valid complaint that could hurt XOOPS in the long run? In my opinion...YES. Who wants to test modules that might or might not work IF there are people willing to write a review that may help other XOOPS user but they just don't get posted?

Did I make a mistake posting a troubleshooting request in the review section? Probably but if there is no response from the dev of the module at their website, as a group maybe we can find answers.

Article 1.0 from the Module Repository is is buggy:

I can install the module. I can create Categories. I can create Topics. But I cannot create an article.

Installed under the following parameters:
PHP Version::4.4.7
MySQL Version::4.1.22-standard
XOOPS Version::XOOPS 2.0.18.1 RC
Module Version::1

The message I get when trying to "Submit an article is:
Your publish shall be subject to GPL and © "Name of Website".

In debug I get the following:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getinstance() in /home/discover/public_html/Frameworks/compat/class/xoopsform/formeditor.php on line 30

Just Installed a fresh copy of Frameworks from:
http://xoopsforge.com/modules/wordpress/index.php/149

Just installed a fresh copy of xoopseditor from:
http://xoopsforge.com/uploads/xoops/xoops-xoopseditor-121.zip

Updated system module and Article module.

Any help on this?

I have been searching for the XOOPSEditor Package and cannot find it.

I have found with 2.0.18 and 2.0.18.1RC about the only editors that truly work is DHTML. Maybe I have a problem with my editors that I have installed. I would like the most recent package that I thought was put together by phppp. It seems like every time I try to find a module or other downloads, I get hit by a wall. Either the site it might be located is no longer a working site or they no longer have the downloads.

For example after searching for the editor package in the support forums, it led me to the following "You can find the editors here on XOOPS Addons:http://www.xoopsaddons.org".

xoopsaddons.org was working a few weeks ago and now is dead. So is the Module Dev Forge site. I hate to say this but maybe XOOPS is getting just a little too difficult to use considering the problems finding modules. Modules are the foundation of XOOPS in my opinion.

Can anyone point me towards a site that has phppp's editor package and maybe offer some ideas as to why the 2.0.18 line of XOOPS suddenly made WYSIWYG editors either function only partially or not at all.

Just to let you know, I have used XOOPS for at least 6 different site before the 2.0.18 line and had just minor problems.

Catzwolf:
In a perfect world, I'd love to have all the above things addressed. After giving the other top CMS's a long test, they have all these features. But XOOPS is still better in many ways and that is why I use it over Drupal and Joomla. When XOOPS finally does get all the issues resolved, there will be no testing of other CMS's...just XOOPS and nothing else.

I want to thank all the module developers and core developers for their outstanding work. But searching for modules is todays biggest issue.

Image Manager/Koivi Problems with 2.42 RC1

I have tested this module on two different test sites:
XOOPS version 2.16
PHP Version is 4.XXX (cannot remember)

When using the Koivi Editor and I try to add an image from the Image Manager, the image does not appear either in graphic or html format.

Process:
1. I Create (or modify/edit) an article.
2. Click the Image Manager Icon.
3. Brings up the pop-up box for the Image Manager.
4. I select an image that I want added to the article.

What happens:
1. Nothing...no image and no html/php code.

I can manually add the picture/graphics by using the "Image Source" button which of course inserts the html code right into the text box of the article I am creating/editing.

When using the XOOPS Default Editor, I can use the Image Manager with no problems but the formatting is rather bad so I'd rather find a fix for this Koivi problem.

Does anyone else have a problem using the Image Manager and Koivi Editor with AMS 2.42RC1?

Any suggestions to get the Image Manager working properly with this module?

Yes the "News" Module 1.54 works with XOOPS 2.2.4.
I have it working on my site. I did have some problems with my site a few days after installing "News" 1.54. I don't think it was due to the "News" module.

Sorry but the only thing I can suggest is to check permissions and also check your "User Groups". My User Groups (Anonymous,Registered, Webmaster) were completely gone and I had to put users back into their Groups.

Good luck and hope someone can offer you a real solution to your problem.

SOLVED***SOLVED***SOLVED***

My problem was due to all of the users being "magically" deleted from the "Groups". In other words, me...being the Admin/Webmaster was deleted as well as everyone who registered prior to July 3rd, 2007.

People like Bandit-X who registered afterwards where allowed to log in as they were automatically placed in the Registered User group.

From what I read on another forum, one of the causes of this is switching how people register and are approved for the site. In my case, I did not change this setting. But I did delete some *spammmers* that had recently registered. Maybe this is a problem in 2.2.X branch of XOOPS?

I would like to thank everyone who helped me solve this problem. You guys are the best!!!!!!

I wish I could remember where I found the documentation for the fix of the "Webmaster being deleted" but think it was on the Dutch XOOPS site.

Bandit-X

Thanks for that little tidbit. I wasn't able to login under my other usernames (Registered Guests) and I certainly cannot login as the Webmaster or I go into "the loop". I did however login under your name and password.

Still cannot login as the webmaster/admin.

Off to my other job for the rest of they day...
