At a push it would be but I'm really looking for something that groups it by the days like in the weekly view I have set up for the main page ..

It just looks nicer and is easier to read ..

Hi Guys

Does anyone know how I can get a weekly view such as this the default view for pical on my webpage for my local hospital radio (http://hospitalradiorossendale.co.uk/modules/piCal/) on the top page of my site but without setting piCal as the Top Page module.

I've tried to use the MiniCalendar function that comes with piCal but to no avail so if anyone has managed it, PLEASE HELP ME

Cheers
Andy

Answering my own question again, just in case anyone is interested ..

I decided that the Alumni Module is actually doing just what I want it to, so instead of going "ARGH .. I want another like it that isn't school based" I decided to look through the code. All the details are listed under language/english/main.php and if you go through and change the definitions, then you can make it not so school like.

Pretty simple really .. just took me a while being a nub to the XOOPS way!

Cheers
Andy

Hi guys

I'm wanting to put a thing on my site for my local hospital radio station where there is a biog of the presenters with a photo and space for additonal bits of info if they want to add it in. I've found the Alumini Module which seems pretty close to what I want but before I go hacking that to make it "non school like" does anyone know of any other modules that do that kind of thing?

I hear that 2.2 has extended features in the members listing. Are those the kind of extended features it holds? If so I might do a manual upgrade instead of waiting for the usual cPanel/Fantastico filtering and testing.

Cheers for any advice
Andy

think I may of come up with a solution, which I shall try in a moment, but just wondering if anyone has and found it to go completely wrong ..

If I do an export from my current standalone version of osCommerce and then do a find and replace on the file to replace all the tags (such as osc1_) and replace them with the xoops1_shop_ and then run the import that should, in theory, do the job.

Anyone advise against it?

Cheers

Hi Guys

This is possibly a bit of a blonde question, but hey, I have some fake blonde in my hair so I'm allowed to ask it!

I'm just setting up my new site in XOOPS and I'm loving how flexible it is. Anyway, I've installed the osCommerce module on my site and I'm trying to import my old shop which is in a standalone version of osCommerce, however, due to the way the tables are obviously reconfigured it's not happening to well with the restore database function within the osCommerce config.

Any ideas on how best to do this without having to go through and manually set up the shop again within xoops? I mean, if needs must then I will do, but if I can avoid it .. you know what it's like ..

Cheers all!
Andy

I may only be a nub, but hey hey, I'm in the middle of coming online with XOOPS for a few sites and when it went down it was all like ARGGGHHH .. now what do I do .. but WOO! You're back and I can plod on with the development!

SERIOUSLY impressed at how small the downtime was guys!

Welcome home, as they say, somewhere, I'm sure .. possibly ..

Cheers guys for them. I'll get reading and see what I can come up with. I am a prefer to learn as I create type guy so I'll drag back the extensions and play about. I mean, I've got a bit of time to play with, not a lot, but if I can get something basic sorted and grasp the core parts of it then hopefully the rest should be plain sailing!

Hi Guys

I'm a nub to Xoops, but so far loving what I'm seeing. I'm currently mainly a mambo man *runs off for using the M word on XOOPS Forum* but my work are wanting a new site developing and the way the XOOPS works is drawing me into it, in the fact, like you say somewhere, it's not an "off the shelf" site and you have to build in the parts you want. This makes a lot more sense to me and seems to be a lot more controlable for me adding in some custom scripts already running on our ancient static site (wrote by my predecessor).

Anyway, I won't bore you with the rest of that tale (just now anyway) but I'm looking for a howto on creating themes and things. The basic parts you need for a site wide theme and the creation of block themes/templates as well and things so that I can have a go at building up something that resembles what I have in mind for the site.

I'm a Dreamweaver man so if there are any extension kits out there for the various bits of code then I'd love to know about them too. I've had a look round the forum but not really finding much as yet so any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers all!
Andy
