I'm using XOOPS 2.0.13.1 and I'd like to put a PHP script in a block on my Poker Pics website. The script displays text ads. I tried copy/pasting the code into the box, "<?php include", etc., with no luck. I think I'm missing something.

Please help

I wish for a comprehensive module that produces rss feeds. I have setup rssfit, but I don't think it has the power to do what should be built in to Xoops. I'm using the older 2.0.13 version so I don't know if rss functionality has been added to the new version.

My new site, ipTVinHD.com really needs a kickstart in the rss department to get moving!

thanks

Well, I did some checking, and I noticed there were a couple of files missing in my site's root dir, one of which was "userinfo.php". So, I FTP'ed that one (again?!) as well as the others, and now things are working! I just hope there aren't others in other directories that failed to get transfered for some reason.

I'm new and I just installed XOOPS on to my LINUX host server space and I'm getting a screen with a "No input file specified." message and nothing else when I click on these two on the left:

VIEW ACCOUNT
INBOX

I have to use the browser's back button to get back to front page.

The other links are OK. PHP Debug doesn't do anything, so that's no help. The PHP & MySql versions are up-to-date, the install went smoothly eventually with all green lights, I setup an admin account without trouble, even a "regular" user signup I did went well, I just can't get into those two sections!

The address bar on the "VIEW ACCOUNT" "No input file specified." page shows, "No input file specified." showshttp://www.mysite.com/userinfo.php?uid=1

The INBOX one showshttp://www.mysite.com/viewpmsg.php in the address bar.

From what I've read the permissions are set correctly.

Thanks

What is the most recent stable version for a beginner?

Hello, I'm getting ready to implement my first XOOPS site and I know how important it is to start with a good, stable version... So, what would that be? 2.0.10, or maybe 2.1

Also I'm prepared to download the .zip onto my Windows machine first, unzip it, then FTP everything to my PHP host.

Finally, I'm wondering why someone would download the tar.gz version?

thanks

Question about MySQL requirements

As a CMS beginner I am looking to start up a XOOPS website and I'm looking at a host that allows 1 MySQL database (each database can include multiple tables) for its cheapest hosting plan, and I was wondering if a XOOPS site requires more? The next step up in hosting plans gives you 10 MySQL databases.

I am new to MySQL also so I don't know if extra features on the site needs additional databases, or maybe they can utilize the multiple tables, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
