Blocks on homepage problems after updating

Hi there,

I updated recently with several of the patches. Everything seemed to work fine. But when I added a new entry in a (wfdownlods) block that shows on the homepage the latest document uploads, the whole thing disappeared suddenly.

In the block-admin part, it still shows that this block (should be) is visible.

Any ideas why this could be?

Thanks for your help!

Re: How do I upgrade from an older version?

But otherwise I "just" have to overwrite existing files with the new patch-versions, right? And take care of code that I have changed within these files...

Re: Protector does not appear in blocks/modules

Nice if it would show up in the modules, but it doesn't...

I use XOOPS (arghh) 2.0.9.2 (trying to patch it up to the latest version in the moment) and Protector 2.55

Re: Protector does not appear in blocks/modules

Ok, I downloaded and installed the latest version. I did the changes in the mainfile.php. And what now? If it does not appear in the blocks, it does not appear in the modules neither as far as I understood. So anything I should do next?

Protector does not appear in blocks/modules

Hi there,

I read the threads, the readme and what else I could lay hands on, and they were all talking about turning the "protector block" on. But there is no such block on my admin/system/blocks page...

My XOOPS is somehwat older (version 2.0.x), perhaps it's related with it?

Thanks for any hints.

Re: Moved xoops... lost admin rights

Is it reallz possible that I am the only one with that problem?I can't believe it.

I just re-tried to export/import XOOPS database and all files. But, same result. And no way to get into the sys-module.

Thanks for all the hints and tipps. But unfortunately it didn't work.

Re: Moved xoops... lost admin rights

I just tried to send a new password to my email. When clicking on the link in the email which directs one to the site to receive the new one, it says:
mail_password: could not update user entry. Contact the Administrator
So somehow this whole admin thing doesn't work anymore, I'd say.

I mean: how do you move xoops-sites? Just producing a dump from your mysql-files and re-importing into the MySQL database on the new machine? And then copying all files in the XOOPS directory? And then just changing the URL/path parameters in mainfile.php? Correct?

I checked, but it is rank=7 AND level=5.

Re: Moved xoops... lost admin rights

Hi,

thanks four your suggestions and your help. Unfortunately it did't help.

a) I can't access the system part. So no way to update the system module.
b) The two Q&A sites indicated above deny me access.

I cleared the cache and the templates_c folder. I checked the mainfile.php again. But in vain. No result. Grrrrr....

Any more ideas? Perhaps I will try to update with the latest version of Xoops...

Thanks a lot.

Re: Moved xoops... lost admin rights

No, I tried that too. But it doesn't work. And I just tried to create a new user, but it tells me that "Could not register new user."...
