I did search the XOOPS site prior to this but could not find a clear answer..

I am somewhat familiar with XOOPS but i want to create a new site and I'm not sure where to find info on the various versions..

for example.. I found a theme that I want to use and it's demo is installed on version 2.0.18.1.

Do I need to only use this version or is the 2.3.x latest version backwards compatible with such themes (and of course similar question for modules)?

I have also asked this question of the theme creators (xoopsdesign) but no response yet..

Even a pointer to the relevant information would be great if anyone has a moment?

Cheers...

This is an old thread but I can see nothing else relevant.

I am trying to add the code to bust out of a frame and have searched about but can't see any conclusive solution [for a beginner]

I have edited the theme.html in the header/body, but I notice that the changes do not appear to load.. so I looked at header.php and noticed this line..

// Weird, but need extra <script> tags for 2.0.x themes
$xoopsTpl->assign('xoops_js', '//--></script><script type="text/javascript" src="'.XOOPS_URL.'/include/xoops.js"></script><script type="text/javascript"><!--');

Do I need to change something here to make the changes to the theme header stick?

If there is a method of adding the 'frame buster' that works I would be grateful for anyone who can point me in the right direction..

Thanks..

comparison of 2.2.x to 2.1.x?

I searched here for any commentary about the two different versions but couldn't find a specific comparison. Could anyone point me to such a thing on this site. I am upgrading a site and wanted to decide which version to use as I have many active modules that I'd like not to break.

Thank you..

This 'login' problem has arisen again in a slightly different set of circumstances.

Due to a server failure I had to restore a backup of our perfectly working XOOPS site.

The new server had the same software configuration, php compiled the same way.

When I login as admin the opening page acknowledges that I am logged in and displays the link to Admin Menu etc , HOWEVER, when I click on the Admin link the error 'You don't have permission to access this area' appears and then returns me to the previous page where I am no longer logged in... BUT in the 'users online' list it still shows me as logged in.

So I cannot get to the Sys Admin section, nor can any user login and post to the forum etc because of the same issue.

I have manually used php and MySQL debug via changing the value in db via phpmyadmin, I have checked the permissions of all relevant directories but cannot resolve the problem.

I have scoured the forums for a solution but only find a couple of unanswered queries similar to this.

Can anyone point to any posts/threads where this may have been resolved or suggest any other items to check prior to starting over and remaking the whole site?

Many thanks..

PS:
php ver: 4.3.11 [with phpsuexec]
mysql ver: 4.0.24
xoops ver: 2.0.10

Yes, these Lost Password problems are also happening to us.. running XOOPS 2.0.10 using flash_test theme.

The mainfile XOOPS_URL fix definitely worked :) :) but since upgrading to 2.0.10 the lost password issue appeared.. any advice on a fix?

I understand the concept of the XOOPS community, however I wondered if anyone would be able to provide a maximum of 30 minutes advising me [most likely less time and without obligation] on a couple of issues if paid for their time.

This [Xoops] is the best of the php CD communities by far, and while paying $ is not in the spirit of the general principles here, I wanted to shortcut to the best module/combination to include some content I have and am prepared to pay for the time of a XOOPS veteran suggestions.. in lieu of my ignorance/lack of time.

If this is a no-no, please smack away :)

I am using the xcomics module with the flash_test theme [X2] and all seems to be great other than for one comic which worked perfectly first few times, then began to load strangely.

There are 6 comic strips showing, of which all but one work fine. The problem seems to be that in capturing the image it's not stripping away other parts of the page from the original site.

Have searched for any similar comment here, but seems there is none.

The Comic is Dilbert and I wonder if there is some small code change that would prevent the excess html [other than the comic strip image] from loading into our page.

I am regrettably not proficient in the php language so wondered if anyone may have any advice on this small issue :)

The page can be seen herehttp://kirkcaldybook.com/modules/xcomics/showcomic.php?comic=dilbert
