You ask for... So, why you wont review your graphics and improve loading time?

Because loading time is'nt a factor for me. :)

Not quite my cup of tea...but I will say it probably is exciting and colourful for your asudience...however...it took a long time to load - you might want to try and reduce the size of the images and the width of the center colum - I work on a large screen and still had to scroll for the left column...not good for impact or wow factor - I suspect if it is the news module that is your start page you might be better off with a spotlight module - its those images in the news posts that are probably making it so slow...but I am no guru...just guessing!

I work on a 1100x screen, and have no problems, my members have no problems with the size of it. Since it is a guild website there are going to be screenshots of kill ect in game. I could use thumbnails, but I think it would reduce the impact.

I'm on a 1500 mbp connection, and that's pretty slow, and it works to load with me. and I have no complaints.

Loading time is not a factor I placed in this site, it's not supposed to con-inside with reslutions and load times. >_>

A World of Warcraft guild website~

Hey guys,

It's been my second XOOPS creation! This is a website for a guild on WoW called Exodus. I used various modules from XOOPS to make it happen. Tell me what should I improve on or what you think.

And I'm sorry, I cannot make this into a theme. :(

Here it is:http://www.exo-guild.com

phpinfo and many other commands are disabled on godaddy, however, they do have a script that you can make to find out your php information.

You can also find more information on their windows hosting by going to:

http://help.godaddy.com/topic_list.php?topic_id=97&

Unfortunately, I was unable to look up anything to do with permissions. Maybe you will have better luck then me, if you haven't already gone over their FAQ's; which I'm sure already have.

One way around this is to use Frontapage (yuk), but at least it will maintain your file permissions when uploading. This may be an alternative solution if your in a real pinch and have a deadline to meet for your client.

I'm a unix guy, so I can't help much beyond that when it comes to windows hosting.

(I'm on a short time frame and have to run, hope this helps)

Did'nt work. Tried it, got all these weird variables up.
Seriously. What will work...?

Re: Anyone use hosting by GoDaddy.com if so, how the HELL do you create database users?!

Hey,

Yeah, phpinfo gave me something like: d:\hosting\<account name here>. Like a computer syntax? I've emailed them, but they give me a copy-paste answer, not even reading my email.
It's really retarded when you go with big companys.

Also, I have CuteFTP, and you know when you right click, and click properties, you can find CHMOD, well.. it's not there. I don't know if they've disabled it or what. =/

Re: Anyone use hosting by GoDaddy.com if so, how the HELL do you create database users?!

Is phsyicall path: _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"] ?

Edit: I know I might sound like a total newb. I thought these things were basic and easy too. But I can not get it to work. It won't write to the file... do you have to upload it a certain way? Binary?

It's mind bloggled me.
I hate when webservers try to make their own interface. GAH.

EDIT: Would Windows NT WINHOST11 5.2 build 3790 have anything to do it? I figured I would CHMOD the permissions, but then it's not a linux server, so I cant... =((((

Help please. ><

What about physical path? Does'nt seem to work, getting a d:/hosting/*account name here*.

Beacause, when I do it, I get:
Saving configuration data..
Could not write into mainfile.phpPlease check the file permission and try again.
