In admin menu, have you allowed anonymous to access to the modules ?
And allowed the registration ?

How to back up ?
1) Save your database always a good idea :)
(2) Make a copy of your ftp ? quite a good idea, but take much time)
3) Save at least the config files

For your websites, have you tried to contact your host ? Because if you wait too long, he'll probably destroy the back ups

Simply change the settings in System>group

If you create many groups you can set many settings :)

Can't you edit the program a little ?

Because i think you do something like

If $pwdindatabase = $pwdenterbytheuser
then grant access

So if the language you use let you do this maybe try

If pwdindatabse = md5($pwdenterbytheuser)
then grant access

Maybe it will work

All depends of your programming language

Try to reupload conifgitem.php file in kernel directory ?
and maybe class directory too

With which version is there this bug ?

i don't understand why people are complaining !

i was happy to receive an e-mail from XOOPS for x-mas

then according to oter mail i received it was not due to XOOPS but only to people who are still registered on this website even if their adress is bad (there were error messages in french) ans the mail adress used by XOOPS did was she was made too, send it to all members !

So thank you again XOOPS i wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year

Creating a module will be hard because you have not access to the main database of those online directory (i suppose)
and so except if you use an iframe in which you include the result page you won't be able to show results (but it will be horrible)

And it will a dictonary per language (i am french so I don't think I will put an english dictionnary on my site )

But your idea is not bad !

Why not trying to make a block in php with a search field and when you validate it opens in a new (framed or not) window the result of the request !

But I don't kno if this is easy to do (I will try )
