I'm running xHelp on my intranet and it is quite nice. There's also the Mantis module and the ZenTrack module, both more project-oriented (if xHelp would have the option to link tickets to projects it would be THE best module for this, currently I use the departments as projects).

iStats: strange server-problem

I have iStats installed but I it won't work for most of the time. I clearly have NO trouble with it's installation as I installed it on other XOOPS sites before without any problems. However in this case when I try to access the iStats information pages I get a blank screen. After switching on PHP-debug I get the following errors:

Fatal errorCall to undefined function: getresult() in /home/sites/site412/web/modules/istats/include/function.php on line 59
Warning
[PHP]: main(getresult.php): failed to open streamNo such file or directory in file modules/istats/include/function.php line 48
Warning
[PHP]: main(): Failed opening 'getresult.php' for inclusion (include_path=''in file modules/istats/include/function.php line 48

The strange thing is that 'getresult.php' IS present and accessable. When I try to access the pages many, many times in a row, SOMETIMES it works (about 1 in 20-30 tries), all other times I get the above mentioned error. I think it's clear that this is a server related problem (I emailed the provider already) but I'm not a 100% sure about it.

Does anyone have any clue about what's going on here and how to prevent it. As a related question, is it safe to move the code from 'getresult.php' into the calling script (as getresult.php only has a few lines of code in it). This could be a temporary solution for this problem.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Catz, thanks for the reply. However, Im using two section-modules (I need two separate areas) that are both based on wf-sections. I use zMagazine because of it's spotlight section and xf-sections because wf-sections and zMagazine where conflicting somewhere. I tried your suggestion in both modules (as they are based on yours I tried) but they don't work. It might be because they don't support that function or I did it wrong. So where am I supposed to put the [title]title text here[\title] in the article ?

One other question (as I didn't see it working yet), where is the generated title-link displayed ? Is it in the section pagebody or is there a dedicated block that gathers the links for the current displayed article (the last thing is what I actually would like to have).

Thanks in advance.

Any sections module: Additional block idea

I have an idea for an additional block for any and/or all modules that manage articles. As almost all do support multi-page articles, it would be VERY usefull to have a block that shows direct links to all pages for a displayed article. This way we can create a dedicated navigation-block for multi-page articles.

The only way to do it now is to create the links by hand and put them on each part of the multi-page article. Besides this being a lot of work, it goes against the idea of a system like XOOPS and the possibilities to integrate this kind of navigation into the layout of a website.

I think the article management needs to be enhanced to be able to give a 'title' for each section, maybe with some tag like this [sectiontitle:xxxxx].

So, any takers ?

OK, I found version 1.06 on the WF-projects website, installed it and all my problems went away

I got the version 1 from the xoops.org website, maybe you guys need to update the downloads there as well

Thanks for your support.

I rechecked the settings and all is as needed. In group permissions I have set anonimous to have access to the module and in the module permissions I have set all groups to have access to all pages.

I did some more testing and set denied access to one page for anonimous (thinking that switching it off and later back on might 'revive' some setting). Even when I set anonimous NOT to have access to that page, I can still access it as anonimous through the 'frontpage' link (when shown).

So it seems that the access-settings inside the module itself are not working correctly.

I'm running WF-channel version 1. Is there maybe a newer version ?

This completely puzzles me:

Installed the WF-channel module without any problems. Added some pages, still all ok. Set all pages to show as submenu. Now the problem: the submenus show when I'm logged in, but they don't show for anon-users. However (as I have set the proper access rights in both groups and the module itself) the main menu-item for WF-channel does show for anon-users AND can be accessed. Furthermore, when I set the pages to add a link to the frontpage, anon-users CAN access the pages through these links. Also, when I activate the 'link to us' page, it DOES show up as a submenu for anon-users (so it's the only visible submenu entry in this case).

I'm running this installation on my development setup: WinXP Home, IB-server (apache, mysql, php), using Firefox.

This problem is close to being a showstopper for me as I'm currently developing a new site for my personal company and I need WF-channel's functionality. The only other module I've seen so far that could replace it is Enterprise-X but I don't really like how it's running like a mini-website inside the main site.

Any help is welcome, as wel as suggestions for replacement modules

OK guys, thanks for the support. I'm feeling quite welcome

I've contacted my ISP and they replied it has something to do with the PHP-version they are running. They also said it should be fixed for now (not sure what they actually did) and they will be upgrading to another PHP-version soon. Not sure yet what to make of it, but it will do for now.

Sorry for crying wolf.... just got a bit paranoid as I have seen all kinds of trouble last week with several of my sites.

One last question (for now): with Geeklog we have a visitor-stats plugin that shows what pages are being viewed by a certain visitor (based on IP-number). Is there something similar for XOOPS ?

I'm currently setting all PHP-files to 444 access as it seems that the server is changing them. After reinstalling all the module-files some where already compromised again. It might indeed be a problem with my ISP as one of my other websites had certain problems last week and that one is running on Geeklog so it might not be related to XOOPS at all.

As for the safemode setting, this site has been running without problems for a week now, the problems appeared today.
FYI, my homedir is home/webregio... the other one is the wrong one. Oh, and cache is disabled for all modules.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm still working on the problem as it seems that the problem is in almost all the PHP-files. It certainly looks like something that is going on on the ISP's server (virus-like tmo).

Just for your information, here is the exact error I get (as it is still apearing while I'm re-testing my site):

Warning: Unknown(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/oakdome/cafe/lgf-reflog-searchv3.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/webregio:/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(/home/oakdome/cafe/lgf-reflog-searchv3.php): failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in Unknown on line 0

Warning: (null)(): Failed opening '/home/oakdome/cafe/lgf-reflog-searchv3.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in Unknown on line 0

Still investigating
