Drewnasty,

Maybe it's too late, but I can tell you that there is not such a module available.

I need similar functionality, but have been unable to find anything.

Thanks for the compliments.

Good thinking on renaming the module. I hadn't noticed that.

And, yes, our site is embarassing!!!!!!! I can't believe we are a professional company doing good work and that's how we present ourselves. Problem is, we are so busy the only way I'll ever get it done is if I don't sleep for a week or two!

Doh!

http://www.nevus.org

Yes, please ignore http://www.coppercupimages.com. That's our company web site, but we've never developed it because we have too many client sites to do!

Please take a look at my latest site design. It is my first XOOPs site.

I have used WF-Sections 2.1 and WF-Channel.

NOTE: The Nevus Community section is not completed.

Thanks!

MyLinks Error - Suddenly Blank Page

I installed the MyLinks module last week and created a bunch of links with it. Everything was working fine. Suddenly, however, all I get is a blank page.

When I turn on PHP Debugging, I get this: "Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read template resource: "db:mylinks_index.html" in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1042"

The mylinks_index.html file is in the modules/mylinks/templates folder, but it looks like it is trying to select the template from the xoops_tplfiles table when I turn on MySQL Debugging.

When I go to the Templates management, that file is listed in my (non-default) set along with several others, but they are highlighted in yellow and I can't generate them without getting an error that says they don't exist.

If I try to upload the file in the Templates administration, I get a response saying that it doesn't need to be uploaded because no PHP files need it.

I need to figure this out quickly. Rolling out this web site Friday morning. Any help will be appreciated.

Dennis and DamJamJim,

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Things have been crazy the last couple of weeks.

Before we continue, you should know that I am not an expert PHP coder either. I do alright so far, but I've only really been writing apps for less than a year. I am a designer who learns to do whatever I need to get the job done.

As such, I admit I'm slightly daunted by the size of this project, because I'm short on time at the moment. If I can find a quick and easy way to accomplish my immediate need for my client, I may have to do so.

That said, perhaps we should determine how we will communicate if we go forward and discuss the scope of the project in more detail. Since I've not worked on a virtual development team before, I'm taking suggestions as to how to begin. Email? Module Dev Forge? Chat?

I am getting closer to working on a membership module, but feeling hesitant about spending the time on it when I know the next XOOPS release is going to have more membership options built in.

Can anyone give us a more specific idea what new membership data features will be included in the next release? Plus, I'm hesitant to ask about timeline, but...

To DamJamJim, is displaying custom content the primary reason you need additional membership fields? Do you also need back-end information, like generated mailing lists, in-depth statistics on members, etc.? Also, how do you hope to display custom content? Do you plan to allow certain groups of members access to certain XOOPS blocks and/or modules, or do you want to go beyond that and dynamically customize individual pages?

Thanks!
Fritz

Agreed.

Maybe the recent events and changes in the responsibilities played a part in the current state of this module.

While I can confirm that there are some bugs, I'm not sure that I would agree on the whole with the conclusion that it should be avoided all together.

In my opinion, there are simply too many great features that I can't seem to find anywhere else. I can deal with a few bugs as long as they don't cause serious malfunctions, and I intend to work with the developers (I think Catz is still involved) to help iron out the bugs.

In defense of Catz (and any other developers), there were previously many requests made in the forums for this codes to be released asap.

Obviously, however, it would be good if these bugs were to be fixed soon.

Is anyone out there porting PHPSurveyor to XOOPS at this point?
