Does anyone know how to get Spaw working with the new News module? The above tutorial doesn't work for the News 1.2

Hi Mithrandir,

Thank you for replying

I'm very sorry for not understanding it rightaway, but in what php document do I have to include that line? I have added the <{$commentnum}> line in the news_article.html template.

I've included the $xoopsTpl->assign('commentnum', $story->comments()); line in the article.php file (next to all the other $xoopsTpl lines).

But now I receive an blanc page when I go to a news article. So do I need to alter anything else to have this to work?

Can someone please help me on this one?

Under every newsitem the number of comments are already shown. Is it possible to show that number elsewhere in a block or in the newsitem?

On the mainpage (news module) you can see with every article how many comments are posted next to the 'read more' link ($morelink).

I want to show this number also above the first comment of that story:

Number of comments on this article: 3

(all comments)

I was working through that class.newsstory.php document, but can integrate that $ccount/$fullcount into the news_item.html template. Is saw that in there is a comment column in the stories table that shows the amount of comments per story.

Can someone help me with this one?

I'm using the great XOOPS module Xcgallery, but I'm having a few 'problems' with it:

* when the standard XOOPS search form is used, the results for Xcgallery are shown as small thumbs, but they are not clickable. Pictures that have a title are also shown as a thumb, but have a textlink to the full picture.

The search function of xcgallery doesn't have this problem: all thumbs are clickable and direct the user to the big version of that picture.

Does anyone know what to change so that the thumbs are clickable?

That is really great news

Love your modules by the way. A few of them (like wfsections) where one of the mainreasons why I've switched to Xoops

I'm using the latest version of WFsection, and i found out that Spotlight 2.0 didn't work with it. But since WFsection nw has a build-in spotlight, I wanted to use that one instead.

The problem with that build-in version is that I no longer have the latest article spoltighted. Now I have to manually select the latest article.

Does anyone know what to edit to have WFsection spotlight the latest article or -even better- how to have Spotlight v2.0 working with the latest version of WFsection?

Thanks for your input

How to edit the way comments are shown

I'd like to change the way the comments (on news, articles, etc.) are shown. I don't like the avatars, joined date, postcount, etc.

In the flat view I just want 2 rows and no columns per comment. The first row should contain name of the poster and the date, while the second row the actual comment.

This is what I had in mind (don't mind the dummy text):

Resized Image

Does anyone know what file(s) I need to edit?

I'm using the Invision Powerboard module (also bbpixel) for Xoops. That one has way more features than phpbb. The newbb forum is too oldfashioned for my website and lacks too many features.

Will the new newbb have the option to be run outside the XOOPS website (so no blocks on the left, and right)?
