Ok, lots of newbie questions, I know...

I want to upload images and thought I could/should do so via the image manager. I "uploaded" 9 images to use in my Sections but they apparently didn't actually uploaded. I peeked via FTP and sure enough the images are not there in either the image folder or the upload folder.

So...

I tried manually uploading them via FTP.

As I attempt to edit the sections I add the address for the images but they still don't show.

I think I'm missing something here and I think it's probably basic. Is there some sort of tutorial somewhere for managing images in Xoops?

Ok, I'm fighting my way through this set up and I've hit a snag. XOOPS is not sending mail.

I can register. It tells me the activation key email has been sent. But the receiver never gets it.

I've tried messing with all of the mail options -- SMTP, etc. The only thing that doesn't result in a server error is the PHP mail setting. But then the mail never comes.

Have I missed a step somewhere?

Ok, new to Xoops, so I'm sure this is a newbie mistake. Been browsing for a while but can't find the answer.

I found a theme I liked via the download section and installed it. Everything worked just as described according to the directions.

But when I now access my url I get a totally blank page. When I try to access the site via the admin.php it tells me I don't have permission.

Everything was going great until I switched to the new theme.

Clues? Hints?
