After making a complete goose of myself with what I had written here I finally found a few options but I need advice please.
I found userpage_1.50 but it won't install on my XOOPS 2.5.1a, is there or is there likely to be an updated version of this module?
I also found xoops2.4_dates_1.45 which I was going to try to see if it would suit my needs but after unzipping and looking at the structure of the files I couldn't figure out how to even try installing it, are there instructions? I am I wasting my time?
Under the Blogs I found that PopnupBlog seems to be the latest file, is this okay to install on 2.5.1a or is there a better one?

Compliments on eXtGallery, it is an impressive module with all the extras included needed for most uses.
I have one question though, is there any way for each member to create their own albums so all photos don't just go into the one public upload folder?

Hi Mamba, a big thanks for this.
I am only proceeding very slowly but all seems to be working as it should, it has definitely made starting out with Xoops much easier.
I did have a bit of a concern when I thought my admin control panel home page seemed to break template with some icons dropping after install, this seems to have corrected without any intervention.

I am embarressed to have to ask this sorry, I installed Xoops yesterday in the hope of seeing if it will meet my needs, so far so good, but I cannot make sense out of trying to find the modules I need to continue and what I have found seem to be years out of date, these being;
